Just 164 feet from Edinburgh’s bustling Princes Street, Haystack Hostel is set in a renovated 18th-century Georgian building. It offers (not 24h reception) with free Wi-Fi and a fully equipped shared kitchen. With luxurious wooden triple bunks, the dorms are all equipped with individual power and USB sockets, reading lights, and bed linen. Shared bathroom facilities include large showers and separate men's and women's bathrooms. Shops, bars and restaurants surround Haystack Hostel, and Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station is less than 492 feet away. Impressive Edinburgh Castle is only 0.5 miles’ walk. Exceptional
The staff were incredibly helpful and informed me about the Fringe Festival. I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm. The hostel was very clean and well organized. I had read some reviews mentioning noise issues, but I didn’t experience anything like that at all. The other guests were also very considerate about noise and lights. The location is excellent, very close to Waverley train station. They allowed me to leave my luggage both before check-in and after check-out, which was very convenient. If I come back to Edinburgh, I definitely wouldn’t look for another place to stay.
I honestly didn’t dislike anything about this hostel.

No elevator and the stay is at third floor and the reception at fourth. With luggages! I learned after booking. But staff help me out with everything else. Love them

The location was great close to the train station and easy to access restaurants and bars.
The staff member who checked us in wasn’t terribly friendly and was more concerned about ensuring the room would be paid for despite having been paid in advance, I think it was rather expensive for what it was. The refuse collectors were noisily collecting several loads of glass bottles very early which woke us up.

Great location, quiet hostel, very clean
The beds are rather low so you can't sit up. The mattress was a little hard for my liking. The toilets were a corridor away.

The hostel is conveniently located near Edinburgh Waverly station (just a short 5mins walk). The common area is very cosy. The shower rooms and toilets are maintained very clean. The bunk beds are neatly organised and comfortable. You have a charging point and lamp next to your bed, with a big storage cabinet at the front of the room. The hostel is quiet and peaceful. I felt safe staying at Haystack Hostel
