There was some black mould in the shower.
The room was too warm for our liking and the a/c didn't appear to be working. We had the window open during our stay to compensate.

The location is just amazing, we couldn’t have chosen better!
The hotel was apparently under repairs right in front of our room, what was not told us anything before or during the stay,it made lot of dust and even though we had cleaning room service every day, the dust was not being removed. Basically it was dirty every day, what made us choose staying out of the hotel for the maximum time possible.

The staff were all 100% friendly and helpful.
We had no hairdryer and one was not found for our room. The heated towel rail did not function and needed a new thermostat. We had room service on day two and expected one on day four as every two days which did not happen.
THIS SOUNDS HARSH. I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN!

The only positive aspects were that the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean, and the location was excellent.
It should have been clearly stated that the room was located on floor -2, literally underground. The heating was absolutely insufficient — we were freezing the whole time, the temperature never went above 19°C. The staff was very unwelcoming. I’m sorry to say this, but the older woman at the reception was extremely rude — the way she spoke felt more like scolding than helping. On the day of check-out, we returned to the room at 10:50 and the key card was already deactivated. I had to go to the reception to reactivate it, and by the time we gathered our belongings it was 11:10. They called us to demand we leave immediately. Overall, a very unpleasant experience.

Called hotel that afternoon to report and despite chasing several times they were unable to locate it.

For the room price, a continental breakfast should have been included. Price to extend our stay one night (unplanned and last minute for sure) was exorbitant.

Location is perfect, only 2 minute walk from the Royal mile road...where you can reach anything.
Turn right you have the castle up the hill. Just to the left of the castle down the lane you can reach Grasslands where all the restraunts and bars are you can sit out in the square.
Turn left on royal mile from hotel you can walk down the hill lots of food places, street entertainers, the hop on hop off bus collection point is at the bottom near raddison hotel.
Cute bakery & coffee shop near there too.
Turn right from hotel, instead of going to the Royal mile, just a little walk down the slope it will bring you to the museums, and all the shopping area, train stations, park area
Be prepared for the hills of edinburgh, tough on the legs
