The location and staff were great!
The heat was hard to regulate. When we arrived it was freezing in our room. Then when we got the heat to work it was so hot in our room we had to open the windows.

The location was excellent, the laundry facilities were incredibly useful although very busy on Saturday night, the room was beautiful and clean.
My biggest complaint is that a double bed is not two twins pushed together. Absolutely ridiculous for a hotel of this price to shove two twin mattresses together and assume this would be acceptable.

Location was fantastic. Had a small kitchenette and a bathroom that was larger than expected.
Our room’s window was next to the outside staircase so was visible to many passerby’s. But that’s not all rooms. There was some floor settlement but expected as an older building.

Location is super, and building is grand & you have a fridge&tea facilities in room.
The building is worn out inside (needs painting/fixing), bathroom needs a deep clean/fixing. There are stains from previous guests on decoration-pillows. The gym is extremly simple. We had no running water in our room for most of the stay, and comparing price with what you get, it is not worth it for us. Would stay elsewhere.

Location, Room Size, and View
As someone who travels often, I understand that not everything will go perfectly during a hotel stay. I rarely reach out to customer service but in this case, I shared what happened and asked for a reasonable concession, given the price point ($700+ for one night) and the nature of the issues.
The room had a couple of issues with the main one being that the lift didn’t reach our floor (a surprise, given the listing and a problem as a member of our group has mobility issues). Additionally, but more minor, the coffee maker didn't work (potentially due to a faulty outlet), and the in-room phone didn’t work (which made it so we couldn't call for help with the coffee maker or our bags - the proposed solution for the lift issue).
These inconveniences were frustrating, but manageable. What truly soured the experience was the response from the customer service team after I politely raised these concerns, hoping for a constructive dialogue or reasonable concession. Instead of acknowledging any issues, their tone was immediately defensive, insisting everything had been “tested and verified” and implied we were either mistaken or exaggerating. Their final message even included a warning about “threats” and “abusive language,” which was not only completely uncalled for (I wrote absolutely nothing remotely close to threatening or abusive) but felt like an attempt to intimidate and silence valid criticism.
At this price point, I expected much better - not just in room functionality, but respectful and professional communication. I hope future guests have a smoother experience, and that the management team reconsiders how they respond to valid concerns from guests.

The location of the property is 10/10, it could not be more convenient for sight seeing and transportation. The staff is incredible - you really are paying for the location and great staff. The suites are sub par, especially if you’re from Canada (the exchange is not worth the cost)
The suite and value. My bathroom shower leaked (large puddle) all over the floor, I saw other complaints of this so I believe it’s a known issue. My 3 night stay equaled out to $600/night Canadian and it’s definitely not worth that amount. The sound between floors is very noisy. I was on the 6th floor and the 7th floor is apartments, I could hear constant thudding noises all night, slamming drawers and doors, etc. I had to ask for ear plugs - noise from the street isn’t bad and I was there during a weekend.

The eggs were boiled but hoped they were poached. still bkfst was good.
confused on bed sizes. In US, a dould room comes with 2 queen size beds or one king. Not sure what to ask for in UK. first stay we had a king, second stay we got one queen.....too small. also, 2nd stay they put us on floor 1, it was like being in a basement. Tubs are verrrry high...short or old folks would have a very negative experience getting in/out.

Perfect location, staff friendly and made check in/out easy. Continental breakfast definitely better than most in average+ hotels. Room had great view, very comfortable, good amenities. Price was great compared to other nearby city center hotels. Was easy to get everywhere on foot. Shower was fab!
Our room had a loose/broken floorboard in the bathroom, was a borderline trip hazard. No complaints otherwise.

I selected this hotel to spend time in Edinburgh celebrating my Mom's 60th birthday. The room was by far the nice place I've ever stayed. The view and location were amazing! The staff were helpful and kind. I appreciate the the effort they put into making our stay and special occasion unforgettable.

Amazing location walkable to everything. Bed was comfortable and clean and perfect for what I was looking for. The shower and soaps provided were great too! They have free laundry on the bottom floor which was nice. Even with a window it wasn’t too noisy and I slept perfectly.
The rooms were a bit dated and a giant flat screen TV in front of my window view didn’t seem necessary if I was paying a higher amount for a “city view” - why put a big TV in front of that view? - plus some of the wires on the TV were going into the floor and were loose. It would be nice if there was an easier way to make coffee too but not a big deal. Hallways were hot at times but rooms were nice and cool! I don’t really have any real complaints, I enjoyed my stay despite these things.
