Our room was clean. Breakfast was good and replenished often. Staff was friendly enough. Location was further out of Edinburgh central but Leith was a lovely area! Restaurants, bars, and other activities were plenty.

My room was colder than the coridor! Room was so cold and noisy. The room AC is probably 20 years old. It was just blowing air - not hot air. Additionally, the room was next to some kind of equipment which was making noise all the time.

Housekeeping and the cleanliness. In addition all of the staff was warm friendly and inviting throughout our our stay except for hotel employee.
Hotel employee was rude discourteous and unprofessional to us when i asked for assistance with a noise complaint. He accused us of making the noise we were concerned about and was extremely nasty to us on the phone. We will never return due to this encounter.

I liked the location on the TRAM/BUS line. I liked the location near the OCEAN TERMINAL Mall building for shopping/eating. They stored my luggage for a day after check-out. They booked all my tours at the front desk and were ready to help out with taxis.

The hotel was very near the ocean terminal tram stop which was great. The breakfast was very nice. The staff were very friendly and held our luggage when we arrived before our rooms were ready and before our evening flight. The rooms were clean and room service was great. We didn't have evening meals in the hotel but there is a great food court in the shopping centre across the road with some lovely family friendly restaurants. A hop on hop off bus stops just a 3 minute walk away outside the shopping centre. This is great if you are a tourist interested in doing some sight seeing. Hotel is very near the Britannnia tourist attraction where you can go see the royal yacht which is well worth a visit.
Don't stay in August unless you are going to the fringe or tattoo as the room prices are very high. It's a good 30 minute/bus tram ride into the city centre so if you are looking for something very central this is not the hotel for you.

Location, quality of room (esp lovely shower) and staff were great. The evening bar service was very good and friendly.
They had initial problems with dealing with large numbers of people arriving at the same time for breakfast, leading to brief shortages of tables and temporary gaps in food delivery. But the problems didnt last long and the staff remained calm and cheerful throughout.
