reception on booking in explained all we needed to know,a very pleasant member of staff,a couple of queries during our stay were easily dealt with,the room was good and cleaned every day of our stay.
breakfast a bit chaotic the first morning but as the stay went on we became familiar with the set up it improved,missed not having fried eggs.

Spotless and comfortable room. HI Express typical breakfast, hot items along with continental items. Staff was helpful and made suggestions for transportation. They had "wash cloths" on request which as Americans we appreciated. The location was perfect for touring the Royal Mile and getting to the train station. Even in a busy area the rooms were quiet. There is a Tesco convenience store very close for snacks or anything you forgot to bring. Food options just around the corner were great.
Lots of stairs. Stairs to get in, some floors have multi-level so it can be tough is you are not able to carry your luggage up stairs. There are elevators to get to the upper floors, but there are steps to get to them!

Location as there are many restaurants nearby . Also the commutation options were nearby
The rooms are really small with no wardrobe or locker/ safe to keep the valuables
They do hv kettle but no water bottles
The lighting is also very dim . Windows are to watch the sky. One have to climb few stairs with all your heavy luggage and no proactive assistance from the staff

Location is rather convenient, not far from the train station and Princes street. The hotel is run efficiently, there is a huge turnover of people and members of stuff manage to treat everyone with a smile. Breakfast was adequate with a good selection of dishes.
I did not appreciate hotel's style and ambiance. The hotel is not cosy, it's just a place to sleep. For quite a lot of money though.
