Disappointing
Great location, friendly staff, and right off of the EDI tram line. Very close to everything.
The hotel is a bit dated and in need of a refresh. The comforters were old and worn, there were water stains in the ceiling tiles, and the walls were quite beat up. It was quite expensive for the value.

Wonderful
The room was clean, very comfortable beds/pillows. Breakfast good, staff extremely helpful - ordered a taxi for us to the station, gave us a takeaway cup to take a coffee with us as the taxi was booked.
Nothing

Exceptional
1. Air conditioned.
2. Clean and comfortable rooms.
3. Inclusive breakfast.
4. Coffee machines with cups to go.
5. Friendly and helpful staff.
6. A luggage storage room you can use after check-out.
7. Amazing location:
- opposite Picardy Place tram stop. Easy access to airport and Murrayfield stadium.
- Within walking distance to attractions like Frankenstein’s Bar and Greyfriar’s Bobby/Cemetery.
It was a bit expensive. But the price likely surged due to the Fringe Festival. Having said that, still worth it for the experience.

Very Good
Breakfast was Good
Price for 2 Nights @ £745 Not Good Just because Edinburgh had Tattoo & Fringe Festival
Should Not be a reason for increase in Room Rate
Fair Price for Hotel which should not fluctuate because of events within the City

Disappointing
Staff were lovely and that was the only thing to like. nothing more.ppor overall.
The Breakfast was pretty basic and good but there were very few options for vegetarian and vegan meals.
The room had very poor ligthing and we were given one room for those with diasbilties. the hotel should have told us abut this up front. The bathroom falicilies were that for someone with diasbilties and did not suit my requirements.
Not ideal if you want connecting bedrooms as the hotel has very few of them and despite booking in advance, did not get one of them. BOOKING.COM needs to check if there is availbility or not.
The restaurant for breakfast was busy as expected but the seating was very basic and only had a few decent seats and tables. The rest had to eat on sub stadard seats and tables. felt more like a basic hostel than a hotel.
The management of this hotel (Not their lovely staff) needs to take a very hard look at their setup and make sure improvements follow in the future, especailly during peak periods.

Wonderful
The hotel is great for all of Edinburgh's attractions plus fantastic for shopping. Its location is very slightly removed from the main drinking areas so its quiet at night despite also being really accessible. It has a tram stop right outside if you're coming in from the airport or want to explore Leith. Parking at the Omni is just a minute's walk away and that's also very accessible and safe. Room was extremely clean, very comfortable. The breakfast is great - loads of choice and extremely well run. Also unlimited tea and coffee available 24/7. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Would definitely stay there again.
The hotel has steps to the front and about 10 steps down inside the lobby to get to the ground floor rooms and the lift. There is a wheelchair lift but nothing for heavy cases. The guy on reception carried our suitcases down for us, but the staps are a bi of an effort with heavy luggage. Holiday Inn have several Edinburgh hotels so it would be worth considering if this would be a major issue for you.

Poor
Breakfast was good
Dust on high level surfaces, dirty carpet, broken usb socket, room service not done for one of the days, shower leaking, mould in shower inside and out, nowhere to put suit case, standards have dropped immensely since we stayed last time, price does not reflect on the standards you would expect, will look elsewhere for our next day in Edinburgh. Not IHG standard at all.

The staff were super friendly and even though it’s an old building the staff and management have done all they can to make it as comfortable as possible . Some things like lack of access to a ramp and using stairs at the entrance is what the building has to offer and more of a design issue . The lift is dated but it is well maintained and it works perfectly fine and that’s what you need. The breakfast spread was fantastic and every single staff member are such a pleasure to interact with . It’s a really good hotel with everyone doing their best with the facilities they have been given to manage . The stay was comfortable and we would come back again .
The entrance. You have to carry your luggage up the flight of stairs and if you have an elderly parents with knee or leg issues they struggle to walk up and . The air-con once turned on is self
regulated and turns off after some time perhaps to maintain an optimum temperature .
