Staff were friendly. It was conveniently located.
The bathroom situations need updating. It’s terrible. The sink didn’t drain. There is black mold on the door to the bathroom because the shower sprays directly onto it, and there is zero ventilation. People constantly trying to open our doors. Happened 3 times thankfully the chain was on. Bathroom drains smelled like cat pee. You can see water damage in the carpet outside the bathroom. Ceiling tiles filled with dust. Bed was not a King or two singles as advertised. That was a Queen bed. Sad there was no mini fridge or ice maker I had to keep my medicine cold. I had to keep getting ice from staff. They were very friendly, but room felt like a let down.

Good location, near Waverley railway station and local restaurants.
Usual Holiday Inn standard

Bathroom need demoulding- not serious but should be better.
Breakfast uninspiring.
Somewhat overpriced but that’s Edinburgh!

Location of rooms and rooms themselves.
Options for water, tea, coffee etc
Overall, the hotel suited us for it's location to the theatre and shops.
Staff at reception were unsmiling and appeared unfriendly.
Breakfast was just ok. I felt the quality of the food could have been better.
I thought that the cost of the room with breakfast was quite high.

It was in a good location .
It definitely wasn’t worth the money paid . The room was not as expected and had a musty smell . There were generators below the room that were very noisy .The cooked breakfast was not good . The bacon was like leather the sausages were under cooked the eggs were dry and the hash browns weren’t cooked properly. The rest of the choices were good enough .

Breakfast food was pretty good. Room very quiet and very clean.
Breakfast was very hectic. They didn't seem geared up to the numbers but maybe there were more people there than normal.
Daily room rate varied tremendously!

Amazon location and professional staff
Dark room, the only window in the room was overlooking a wall. Stained carpet which needs deep cleaning.
I am a member of the hotel chain. In other hotels they will make an effort to give customers the best possible room. In a recent trip to London, I stayed at the Hilton, and they lit me in a superior room because I am a member.
I feel that in this case we were given the worst possible room in the whole hotel. Really disappointing.
Breakfast is hectic, small place extremely crowded.
Edinburgh is an expensive city, with the Fringe ongoing and students starting university I had to pay a lot of money to stay for a couple of nights. I feel the hotel did not live up to my expectations.
Mattress have seen better days.

Great staff, all super freindly and helpful. Good breakfast and coffee.
The bathrooms could do with a bit of TLC. Re-siliconing round the shower tray etc. Also the air con could be a little stronger. I had it on 18 degrees and it was still a bit stuffy.
