The hotel was in a great location, staff was wonderful, the room was spacious and the bed very comfortable.
I wish the sign to the hotel was a bit bigger. It was a but hard to find while walking at night.

We had room on top floor. It was tiny and I hit my head trying to get out of bed. The shade was broken too. There were no shelves to put things on or a luggage rack. My kids room in the 2nd floor was very nice!

Hostess were always welcoming and helpful. The location of the hotel is ideal to connect to key parts of the city whether for tourism or business and it is near the university.
I didn't like the fact that room cleaning services in the rooms have odd schedules, either too early or too late. They left all the linings collected during the morning thrown out in the corridors almost all day. Thus, carpets were not very clean. I have to skip room cleaning several days during my 8 day stay because of that to the point that I have to run down to ask for additional tea bags since they didn't do it during cleaning. The hotel is pricey to have that sort of problem.

The building was beautiful and historic. I appreciate how close it was to the Royal Mile.

We love the location and staff and breakfast. This is my third time staying here. It’s in an older building. We got a larger room this time, but the bathroom was very old and a bit rusty, the filter in the bathroom needed to be cleaned , the bed wasn’t super comfortable and there was more street noise.
My sense is the experience varies depending on the room, but since we had upgraded to a better room this time I expected a bit more comfort. Still would recommend because of location, staff, breakfast and charm of the building.
