First, it's Doubletree, so bonus points for cookies on arrival! The location was perfect. Close to the meeting points for all of our tours. The room was great. No complaints!

We had a very early arrival and the staff did their very best to get us checked into our rooms as soon as possible, as we were all very tired from the long journey there.
The hotel is centrally located, within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and many local attractions. We found our stay very comfortable, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout. The breakfast buffet was excellent, featuring a traditional Scottish breakfast along with a nice variety of pastries, fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, and breads. They also had a few "made-to-order items" off a menu, like omelets, eggs Benedict, pancakes, fried eggs, etc.
While the rooms were a bit dated, with creaky flooring, they were clean, cozy, and offered a wonderful view of Edinburgh Castle. The housekeeping staff were especially kind and accommodating. We also appreciated the small touches like the tea kettle, bottled water, and cookies, which made for a perfect afternoon warm-up after a day of exploring.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would gladly recommend this hotel to others.
While we were there, Storm AMY blew into Scotland, and many attractions and stores were closed or closing early. We decided to eat in the hotel restaurant that evening and were told they could not accommodate us as they didn't have enough staff to help everyone wanting to eat there, so we had to bundle up, grab our rain gear, and go out to try and find something to eat. Unfortunately for us, there wasn't much else to do.

Ac was down! I don't know if maintainance was done in recent times on it. Elevator was down for over 16 hours ! This is not acctable as far as I remember DoubleTree standards!

The location is away from the busy tourist areas, but very close to the Timberbush Tours meeting point, surrounded by a quiet and comfortable environment. Upon check-in, we were warmly welcomed with freshly baked cookies, and the staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and professional, offering helpful advice.
There was nothing to be dissatisfied about.

The staff were very courteous and kind and accommodating.
The hotel wasn’t clean. When I walked in the room, there was still hair on the floor and on the sink. The body wash bottle was empty. The sheets also weren’t not as clean. We only stayed one night so not worth the complaint but they need to do better with their cleanliness, or lack of.

Nice location. It’s a short walk to the castle. Very nice and helpful staff.
The rooms need upgrading. The hotel is in a beautiful old building, but our room felt dated. Shower curtains are just gross from a sanitation perspective and the carpet in our room didn’t look clean. The breakfast at the hotel was not good. Fruit not fresh, very few options.

False marketing!!
The website shows a dining room with views of the castle which was the feature which made me to decide at the double tree Hilton however , you are quickly informed that this dining room is not fit guests ! This is misleading and false advertising… to make matters worse the reception desk staff member defended their website!

- Not worth the amount paid for the room
- problem in the drainage of shower water
- Ironing table was broken
- Room service menu was too bad
- No one will help in carrying luggages
- The room decoration and furniture is too basic
- No slippers in the room unless you order and take supervisor approval.
