Staff was attractive and helpful. Breakfast offered a decent variety of foods. We knew we weren't going to spend much time here and just needed a safe place to sleep on our last night in Scotland. It was easy to find, return our rental car, and get to the airport on-time with the complimentary shuttle.
We had to change rooms after a botched attempt to take a shower (coversion from faucet to shower head didn't work and tub would not drain). Compensated with a free drink at the bar. We've enjoyed staying at DoubleTree Inns frequently in the US but this site seemed more run-down than the US properties. The bathroom could use an overhaul - or at least a caulk replacement. More mold/mildew than I'd anticipated (due to allergies I have to be a little more picky about that sort of thing). The beds were also fairly firm and had divots in them, as if the mattresses have never been flipped.

Terrible fish smell when entering hotel reception area.
Window in room did not close properly and thus was hearing all the trains passing by every few minutes.
They forgot my wake up call.

We were greeted by Kenneth at the reception desk. He was exceptional at his job, and most importantly, exceptional with his people skills and communication. Wonderful
I have stayed here often when I come to Scotland. I often come in on a later flight in and go to the hotel to sleep and decompress before starting my trip the next day. The rooms are good size, the staff very helpful and I like the restaurant. And it is literally right next to the airport-you can walk to the hotel from the airport, walk back to the Edinburgh Tram, and the car rental return is right there. I haven't had a bad stay so far.

Proximity to the airport and the Staff were all top shelf!
The shower was not cleaned and the shower drain was plugged so a very quick rinse off was needed.Also, it appeared the shower door sealant failed and water leaked at the wall to the floor. A little bleach or cleaning solution goes a long way!

Staff were friendly and let us drop off our luggage when we arrived early.
We booked because of the proximity to the airport, the swimming pool and the quality you associate with a Double Tree. However, the pool only had cold showers, the beds were very small, there was no fridge in the room and in the morning we noticed a large stain underneath the duvet. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to raise this with the staff as we had to check out very early. At close to 300 Euros a night this was a terrible stay.
