Good
Really good location, nice for walk with family and good facilities in the leisure club. Good breakfast.
Extremely long walk to the room, especially for family with young kids. So in that sense the family rooms and located furthest. Other minor annoyances like loose tap and hidden leisure center.

Breakfast was great Buffet style but really fresh and well cooked. Evening meal in the restaurant was truly 5 STAR.
I didn't have time for a round of golf on a beautiful course.

Very Good
Staff were lovely
Not enough seating in cocktail bar.
I booked a reservation in Brassiere but they " lost" my reservation and I couldn't get dinner.... Had to have bar snacks instead. Disappointing as I had booked weeks in advance as I knew Saturday night would be busy.

The overall property was very well kept despite being rainy and snowy at times. The entire staff was pleasant and professional. The fitness center was well equipped. All the restaurants were nice to grab a bite to eat. My room was clean and very comfortable. I really enjoyed my extended stay.
Nothing really, if I had pick I would say which they had a few more options at breakfast or at least add some different nuts and fruits and have some spices available. But overall breakfast was fine just the same every day.

Location felt private, which is what we were looking for. Uber to get downtown and taxi to get back.
Nothing bad about the property.

Wonderful
The place was wonderful. The dining room and bar where perfect for breakfast and dinner. Sitting outside in the garden on a hot summers day watching the golfers come in was perfect! A must place to go!!
It was unexpectedly warm and there was only a fan in the room, which we had to dig out to put on ourselves.

Breakfast was fresh each morning with the Scottish breakfast, continental and fresh fruit and pastries. The coffee machine at breakfast made more than 6 different styles of coffee from Americano to Expresso to Cappuccino. It was very enjoyable! The bar at the hotel was wonderful as well. We got in a little late and had to eat at the bar which turned out to be really good. The bar served a smoked salmon on toast with capers which was very tasty but not too filling. We enjoyed it so much we had it again the second night of our stay! The bartenders and wait staff at the bar were very friendly!! The hotel had gym and we used it a couple of times. It had the same workout machines for the most part of our gym back home. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. We were trying to navigate to our room and Steven one of the managers saw us having trouble and jumped in and said he would deliver the suitcases to our room which he did personally. He then shared where we could get dinner and said if we needed any help he would provide it. The next evening the ice machine on our floor was out of service and Steven saw me looking for ice and asked if he could help me with anything. He took me and got ice. He was so kind and wanted to make sure our stay was awesome! Also the hotel front desk explained to us how the bus system worked and how to buy tickets into Edinburgh and what bus lines serviced our area. The hotel is about 7 miles from the city center and the bus took about 20-25 minutes to get us into town for about $15 dollars for the two of us. The pass we purchased allowed us unlimited uses to any bus lines or tram lines in the city all day. This was much cheaper than parking offered in town. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice hotel to visit Edinburgh.
As a runner, there was limited areas to run but I was able to run around the hotel and to the main road a few times to get in a few miles. Having said that, the hotel and grounds are very scenic and it was a beautiful area to run in!

It was really nice to be just outside all of the activity of Edinburgh. Dalmahoy felt like a quiet retreat and the bus stop for the bus into the city centre was only a 7-10 minute walk from the hotel. Every single staff person that we interacted with were amazing and made our time at Dalmahoy so special.
We did get the chance to try the Brasserie but found it to be a bit overpriced for the food. The food wasn't horrible, just overpriced. It's nice that it's there on the grounds, but I would recommend eating somewhere else if possible.

Lots of options for breakfast . Hotel is far from city center so need to take bus which can be a 45 minute bus ride depending on the day . The grounds are really nice . Staff were great , room was clean . The wall are thin so can hear others in rooms and hallway . Sauna was nice and clean , pool was a perfect temperature. Would stay here again .
The walls were thin , could hear others conversations in rooms perfectly so lack of private conversation was a bit of an issue .

Very Poor
There was only a single positive experience from the stay and that was the one staff member in the breakfast room who was helpful and efficient compared to most others we encountered. Unfortunately that is where the positives end!
I cannot express how extremely disappointed we were with our experience. We arrived at the confirmed check-in time only to be told there was a system issue causing delays. Reception assured us they’d call as soon as our room was ready. Initially, we were understanding as these things happen. However 5-6 hours later, after multiple follow-ups, we still had not been contacted. The waiting and waiting continued to the point where we had to cancel our plans for that night because we were both so tired from travelling/waiting in the lobby for hours without being able to freshen up, get changed and rest. We were not even offered a cup of tea. When we asked again, the room was suddenly ready, despite no one notifying us as promised. It was heading for 9pm when we got to the room....
From there, more issues arose: ordering food was a nightmare with conflicting menus between reception, the restaurant, and the in-room guide. That night, loud noise and door banging from a Christmas party disrupted our sleep. Breakfast the next morning was equally poor with conflicting allergen menus, missing items, a cracked glass, and a broken coffee machine. Staff only addressed problems when we insisted repeatedly.
At checkout, we requested to speak with a manager and asked for a partial refund given the onslaught of issues we had but primarily because the hotel failed to honor the agreed check-in time. The manager apologised and confirmed a refund would be processed within a few days. As we left I felt somewhat reassured given measures were being taken to address our issues/compensate us for the hotel not providing the service we paid for. That was until hours later, when the same manager emailed claiming no refund had ever been agreed upon. This is absolutely not the case as I would not have left without that assurance.
The lack of integrity and accountability is appalling. Would not recommend!

the athmosphere, environment, facilities, short distance to the city. Everything was good.
It was hard to get a seat at the main restaurant during dinner times, but there were other options so it was fine.

The location is excellent and the views of the Golf Course is beautiful.
It would be great if they had signs on the nature trail to guide through the walk
Rooms are a bit small

The perfect country Scottish destination. All of the staff were wonderfully accommodating, friendly and so down to earth. The venue was second to none luxurious rooms and sparkling dining areas. Highly recommend this venue as a MUST VISIT to Scotland. See you next Christmas!!!

Everything was just so amazing
Just got a bit noisy during the nighttime, I woke up twice from the noise of the neighbors. Maybe it would be helpful to enhance the noise proof in the rooms.
