Parking is super here as is the plentiful and very tasty breakfast. James Braids country club and pool are ideal for a gym session or early morning swim. The gardens are lovely for a walk after dinner or breakfast as the French doors open out onto the patio with golf course views as far as the eye can see.
The rooms are starting to need some attention, with broken charging points and tired fixtures. It may be worth investigating upgrading the soundproofing as we were able to hear almost every word of a conversation in the next door room. The fridge in our room kept everything at a perfectly constant room temperature therefore we had spoiled items.

Craig on the club reception was friendly and helpful. Great representative.
Bedroom was comfortable and well presented. Clean.
Fantastic views and set in beautiful grounds.
The food and service in the The Pentland restaurant was great.
Bathroom looked tired and dated, black spots in the grouting, peeling paint.
Some of the staff weren’t well trained, particularly in the Brasserie, with delays in service. Well intentioned friendly staff for the most part. The food in the Brasserie wasn’t particularly enjoyable - highly priced but very average quality.
There were some big groups of golfers drinking outside in the early evening who were unfortunately very sweary, frequently using the f word. Not great when there are children around.

Bed were comfortable and rooms were spacious however the hotel is a maze it is impossible to find you room and navigate in and out of the hotel- to get to our room in the 300s we went up stairs, then down a flight, up a 1/2 flight, down 1 and up 2. Very annoying and food was bad

It was a reasonable location for visiting the RHS.
On arrival they asked for payment? No reason why but normally pay when leaving.
Rooms very dated, it was so warm and no fan you would expect better
from a 4* hotel. Bathroom very dated old shower broken tiles
Restaurant menu not very good for food intolerance, they have not moved on with the times. We only eat there on the first night due to this.

The location of the Dalmahoy Hotel is quite stunning with such beautiful grounds whilst the leisure facilities were also top rate. We particularly enjoyed the extensive breakfast. The staff were very accommodating too.
Our only niggle is that we found it difficult to find our room both initially and also on return after being out.
