Disappointing
Food at the main restaurant was very good and staff were very nice.
When booking you think youll be staying at a castle instead youre staying in a separate modern building extension. The hotel needs a lot of love in terms of refurbishment, its outdated, smells and there are holes in their upholstery which to my standard is unacceptable. Also you HAVE to rent a car if you want to stay there - taxi's take 40 min to arrive and are extortionate in price (London black cab prices)

We stayed in the lady mary room that was first class couldn't fault it, also the history behind lady mary who's portrait hangs above the 4 poster bed that she is believed to haunt the main building.

The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful park, where one can have coffee and a nice walk, great for non golfers as well. Hotel staff is helpful, swimming pool is very pleasant and well equipped. Breakfast is good.
The hotel staff had hard time to handle the crowd at breakfast time. We had to wait a lot for the food orders, fruits, coffee run out quickly and was replaced slowly. We stayed in one of the family rooms, located in a side wing of the hotel, next to some sort of maintenance room of the hotel and every night from 10-11 pm to midnight a very annoying constant noise was audible, it was hard to go to sleep.

The grounds were immaculate.
The staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful.
Our deluxe king room was tired and not particularly clean , ingrained dust on the tv consul and dirt on the Upvc windows , stains on the carpet. The in
room phone didn’t work and the ensuite was again tired.
Breakfast service was chaotic we had to
wait to be seated every morning.

Beautiful property!!! Right out of the the movies. Feels like you are pulling up to a manor house. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Nice swimming pool. Great breakfast. Lots of options to choose from.
