We stayed only 1 night. Had an early flight to catch. But really enjoyed the evening. Coffee overlooking the golf course, drinks at the bar and a tasty dinner.
Our room was extremely comfortable. Really appreciated the quality of the bedding

Wonderful
Very much enjoyed my stay at Dalmahoy. Visited because my grandfather and Uncle and Mother used to be members of the golf club many years ago.

Room was v good, breakfast was excellent.
Price of drink in bar was outrageous.
We ate one night in The Brsserie, service of first 2 courses by a young man was v good, he went on a meal break, was replaced by 3 women who did not seem to know what they were doing. We had to ask for a menu, then ask them to take away our dirty dishes. Then the young msn returned, and so did normal service.

Exceptional
We stayed at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club for one night before heading to Ben Nevis and it was exceptional! It was my friend’s birthday, so I reached out to the hotel in advance to see if they could do something special as a surprise. Oh wow - we were absolutely blown away! They went above and beyond by upgrading our room to a Junior Suite, which added such a luxurious touch to our Scottish adventure.
After a long 8hrs drive, we really appreciated being able to relax and unwind using the hotel’s facilities like swimming pool, sauna and steam room - it was just what we needed.
The staff were all super friendly and helpful: from the reception to the restaurant. We had a birthday dinner and breakfast at the Pentland Restaurant - the food was delicious and service was great.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with gorgeous grounds and plenty of space to walk and enjoy nature. If you love golf - this place is a dream!
I’d definitely recommend Dalmahoy to anyone visiting Scotland or Edinburgh who’s looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Thank you to all the team for making our visit so special!
Nothing. Everything was perfect!

Rooms and restaurant staff were excellent.
Checking in and out was extremely lengthy, to the point it caused frustration in the people behind us.
To be fair, we were a five room group, but I had phoned ahead to inform who would be staying in each room and who would be paying for the rooms.
It took three visits to reception over two days to complete payment of the rooms. I did ask for a printout so I could understand their confusion, but even the reception staff were unable to decipher it.
All in all, checking in and out was lengthy for everyone involved, and that appeared to be the norm.
The building itself is a maze with room floors and numbers being confusing for older guests.

Breakfast was ok
Good range of choice but not exceptional the short golf course was ridiculously crowded
We and others gave up after 9 holes
Gaps between tee times were to short for such a tight course at one point I was able to see approx 20 golfers within 150m of my location

Location and value were good. Enjoyed NOT staying in City Center but rather in a more countryside location. Perfectly located to Curriehill station for the train into Wavery or Haymarket.
Really enjoyed the bar in the mornings with coffee and such, sitting out on the deck.
While we didn't dine in the formal restaurant because of time constraints, the more casual bistro above the pool did not have very good food. Also, the time frame for room service doesn't go very late. And no vending machines or a small convenience shop...? Something like that would've helped things a lot.
But in the mornings, the bar had a great coffee and pastry set up with a nice balcony looking out over the course and landscape.
Lastly, we were there during a hot period of time. The short of what would help: Quality working room fans that can sit on the sill of the window. The fans in the rooms barely move air and can't reach the window sill.
A big recommendation to staff: Have a list of area shooting experiences. Or get a partnership with one or a few. We shot clay in the Cotswolds and the Dales and I know when I stay at the Dalmahoy again (because I do like the place), I'll be going back to Edinburgh Shooting School again. A great guy running that place.

Nothing.
Not very comfortable. I paid for a room with a king size bed and a bathroom with a suite, but the room did not have air conditioning.

Disappointing
Nice grounds
Horrible customer service. They were overbooked the first night so they send us to another hotel for the one night. After waiting on a taxi for 20 minutes and driving for another 25 minutes we arrived to the other hotel where they informed us they had no idea of any bookings. We called the Dalmahoy and they had sent us to the wrong hotel. We had to wait for another taxi for 30 minutes before driving another 25 minutes to the ‘right’ hotel. The day after we had to get back to the Dalmahoy and it took 50 minutes for the taxi they had send to reach us (we called three times and it was made clear to us we couldn’t just call our own taxi as then we would have to pay for it). When arriving back at Dalmahoy we were really expecting at least some kind of compensation (especially since the hotel we stayed at the first night was €60/night cheaper than Dalmahoy and all in all we lost at least thee hours between all the waiting and moving) but they just said ‘sorry, nothing we can do’. I found this absolutely unprofessional so safe to say our stay at the hotel (for the next two nights) was pretty much tainted after that.
