The breakfast was exceptional. Beds were comfortable and room was the clean. The building and grounds were beautiful. It was convenient to the airport.
The price was high but reasonable for the area.

Disappointing
Room comfort and natural surroundings.
Reception staff was unkind, room was outdated and only moderately clean, and the facilities were not worth the price we paid.

Beautiful old estate transformed into a country club/hotel. There are 2 golf courses. The grounds are beautiful. Just a 30 minute to Waverley Train Station in Edinburgh so it was the perfect stop before our departure out of Scotland.
Nothing to criticize.

Very Poor
The staff
Photos on booking.com were misleading. The property did not reflect what we were shown online. We ended up being booked into a conference-room like block that was not advertised in pictures at all on the site. We could not eat at the brasserie because it was fully booked and had to queue for breakfast. There was a wedding on the property that meant loud music well into the night and we were constantly woken up by wedding guests coming back to their rooms, we were not notified of this. The staff were wonderful but overall we were disappointed with the property and it felt like our expectations were completely mismanaged.

I had a fantastic 2-night stay at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club. I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a spacious suite, which was incredibly comfortable. The hotel grounds are beautiful and extensive, featuring a lovely swimming pool, sauna, and a peaceful, charming chapel that was a highlight for me. Most importantly, the staff were friendly and very helpful throughout my visit. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway!

Wonderful
Lovely property with a lot of history. Very well maintained. Easy walk to the bus stop that takes you right to downtown Edinburgh. Can buy an all day ticket and use in Edinburgh. Lots of things to do. Fitness centre, pool, golf, pitch and putt plus …. Lots of nice seating areas to relax. Staff were all very helpful. Really enjoyed our time with concierge Al.
A little difficult to find way around the hotel but we figured it out. Lots of signs and maps to assist. Breakfast was good but it got very busy with tours and staff seemed to be stretched a bit thin

Wonderful
Beautiful suburban country club hotel, perfect for traveler wishing to golf.
The rooms are in a vast maze of floors and corridors. I would recommend requesting a room in the old building.

Quiet and pretty location. Not too far from airport.
Long maze to our room. A bit over- priced for a basic room.

Good
The historic building and grounds were beautiful. Located close to the airport and the park and ride, easy to take the tram into the city. The staff was overall very nice and helpful, and we enjoyed the options for food and cocktail bar on site.
The beds are firmer than we'd have liked and are on wheels, which moved if you weren't careful. Walls are very thin, could hear conversations next door. Breakfast buffet had a lot of options but was only so-so, flavor wise. It's clear they're feeding a lot of people so the quality is only okay.

Beautiful grounds and close to the airport
A little old and signs of mildew in bathroom. Could use a deep clean and be renovated.

Not a huge complaint but the restaurants were always booked solid and we didn't have dinner some days. We managed though.
