Wonderful
It’s a really nice place to stay, the decor and atmosphere really add to the stay.
I’ve stayed a few times and noticed that a suite is just exactly the same as one of the standard rooms; same layout, size, decor etc but it has the addition of a minibar and a robe. Not sure that justifies the extra expense? Also, I didn’t pay for breakfast when I booked the stay because I was unsure whether I would have time for breakfast, so thought I would just pay for it if I did. On checking in I was asked to provide a card so they could charge things to my room (totally standard) but I didn’t have a card on me, just Apple Pay. So, things obviously couldn’t be charged to my room. However, this caused a great deal of confusion on one of the mornings when I I did have breakfast. I explained the situation so was asked what I wanted before I’d even seen a menu, so they would know what to charge me. I pointed out I hadn’t seen the menu and was allowed to sit down. However, I was then presented with a card machine just as my breakfast arrived. It all felt a bit like I was suspected to be some random person who had wandered in trying to con a continental breakfast from the hotel. I understand the need for making sure things are going to be paid for but there might be a bit of a better system that doesn’t leave an impression that you are not trusted?

Overall feel of the hotel was nice, smell throughout was lovely. The staff were very professional and welcoming
The room was a let down - looked run down and in need of a freshen up. (Dirty tile grout in the bathroom, paint chipped all over, stains on walls, door stiff to open and close). Breakfast was extremely underwhelming for the price, didn't get much and felt average quality.

The room was superb, adding a bottle of milk was a nice touch too
Restaurant service was slow 1st note but awful 2nd nite, long delay, fobbed off when I phoned down at 9pm - possibly shift change but not good. The person who'd pick up later was very apologetic and nice so top marks her and the guy who brought my dinner up at 9.30. All in all it was let down by the restaurant service which is a shame as I thought it was potentially excellent

The atmosphere of the hotel was really good staff very accommodating and food and drink was really good really comfy bed
A staff member came to the room in the morning to check the smoke alarm. Personally we did not have an issue with this, however we feel others could. The staff member informed us the hotel does not provide them with a list of empty rooms to check the alarms in. I feel this should be implemented to prevent disturbing customers in the morning, or done after customer check out time.

This was a wonderful hotel stay. We stayed here twice on our Edinburgh visit and loved it. We chose the location in the town of Queensferry over airport hotels twenty minutes away. The town is charming with a fantastic view of both photos and is a short walk from the hotel. The room and beds were comfortable and the shower and bathroom were perfect. But what really stood out besides a great room, very good dinner menu and location was the staff at the hotel——warm , welcoming and helpful. The huge test was that we left a bag containing jewelry, glasses and other items after us and the Dakota mailed the bag to us in the USA once we notified them. The hotel staff were beyond helpful and communicative.

I was told my room would be ready at 3pm so we arrived at 3 and our room was not ready yet so we had to wait in the lobby for over 20 minutes for them to find a room for us.

We had a fantastic stay! The hotel was beautiful, very clean and well maintained throughout. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we had a great night’s sleep. The staff were absolutely lovely, very welcoming, friendly and always happy to help. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would definitely return. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
There was nothing we disliked about our stay. Everything was lovely, and we couldn’t fault our experience.
