In Edinburgh’s Old Town, Castle Rock Hostel - Adults Only is conveniently located 11 minutes’ walk from Waverley Train Station, and 3 minutes from Grassmarket and Edinburgh Castle. In a 19th-century building decorated with art, this adult-only property has colorful dormitories and free WiFi access. The hostel offers accommodations exclusively for guests aged 18 years and older. Dormitories feature bunk beds with bedside lockers and have use of shared bathroom facilities with showers. There is a cozy lounge with a piano and large sofas by the fireplace, a movie room with big screen and an internet lounge with WiFi. Breakfast is unfortunately not available at the moment, but we have a large self catering kitchen for guest use. Laundry and luggage storage services are also offered. This hostel is around 5 minutes’ walk from Princes Street Gardens, The Scottish National Gallery and the National Museum of Scotland. It is also a pick-up point for free walking tours around the city. Continental breakfast is available each morning from 7:30 until 10:30 for £4. At check in, we will require a refundable key deposit of either £10 cash or a form a government ID.

Love the ancient feel of the place as always. No guys strumming sad songs on guitars in the stairwell corridor like a couple of years ago (thank god). View is great. Dorm window was easy to open and close. Pool table is ace. Hostel is close to nice restaurants and pubs. Nice kebab shop on Cockburn street 5 mins from railway station.
70?% of the guests in the commons room were zombified on their smartphone rather than getting to know each other. Never will like that. I was brought up in the 80's and 90's and there was none of that boring nonsense, more fun back then.The shower was extremely difficult to turn off, plumber/AI robot needs to sort it out. No indication which is hot and cold tap in shower. Unfortunately we had to put up with a REALLY loud snorer in the dorm. Bed names are more pathetic than funny in the Latin room. Receptionist guy didn't seem to get humour very well...... oops

This was the absolute best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Awesome value for money, awesome people, awesome location, awesome staff the list goes on. I had so much fun here and felt so safe and welcomed. Being able to come back after a long day on my checkout day and still being able to shower was so great.

Beautiful old building. Great lounge areas and kitchen. Hot chocolate there is amazing. Close to the royal mile and the castle. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great hostel!

I really loved how friendly and helpful the staff were, and the location was perfect. The decoration of the hostel made it feel like a little palace! I also enjoyed the daily events, everyone seemed to have such a great time there.
The beds were a bit hard, and the sheets felt like they had been used for quite some time. A small update in bedding would make the stay even better.
