The bed is like a trampoline. The duvet inner did not fit into the duvet cover.

Bed was comfortable, large and clean. The room was more than we had hoped and the staff really helpful. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the fresh croissants.
If looking for an issue, can sometimes be difficult for taxis to pull in and let you out on the small road.

Nothing it’s the worst stay we have had in Edingburgh
Our mattress had springs poking through, staff tried relocating us to another sister hotel but there were no rooms available. There’s never a manager on site so no one can make a decision to support customers. We couldn’t get a refund so that we could book another hotel elsewhere. We were promised a new mattress but that didn’t arrive so staff had to put a duvet on top of the springs. The room for two nights cost £440 which was very costly , and it does not feel like a 4 star hotel, even the lobby downstairs had dirt on the floor.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Appreciated access to water, drinks and pastries in the Parlour.
It is a lovely hotel, but it would possibly benefit from better sound-proofing. Any movement or talking in the hallway, and the talking snd coughing of neighbours could be heard.

Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. I chose the location to be near St Bride's Community Centre and it was generally a great location for the Old and New Towns as well.
Breakfast was good if you eat baked goods. There was no GF options, not even toast. No yoghurt, cereals, fruit. The juice and smoothies were nice. While I rarely watch TV - it didn't work. My shower didn't work for a day then was promptly fixed.

The hotel is well-located near the West End, Haymarket and Fountainbridge. Very convenient for the EICC. Occupies a nice old building and pleasantly styled.
The noise; couples in nearby rooms were clearly audible. The 'free' breakfast at 8am seems sympathetic, but it means you have to be there at 8 or otherwise wait a long time or find little left. My room needed painting.

The location was perfect for our daughter’s graduation at Usher hall. pastries and smoothies for breakfast were tasty. Lounge and courtyard were very nice touches so we didn’t have to be in the room all the time
Only bad thing was that the internet was down so the tv didn’t work. (Specifically, my husband couldn’t watch the England World Cup Q finals game)
