Wonderful
Nicely appointed, clean, comfortable with friendly staff. Liked the complimentary beverages and continental breakfast, very convenient and the umbrella borrow/rent kiosk.
Only things I felt were missing - washcloths with the towels and napkins in the pantry.

There are rental umbrellas at the lobby, also, there are free bottled water and some bread provided
My pillow was dirty- there’s a nasty oil stain on it The bed was not well made- makes me wonder if the room was cleaned properly at all? We couldn’t find any towels in the room either so we didn’t shower.

Everything is good
They used to have sodas for free and would replentish the fridge every morning. This time they had no coffee, no sodas and juices would run out. This isnt bad at all, just a bit sad that it ended.

Clean rooms , but rather small . Parking available at additional cost of £18
Breakfast was bagels and pastries . We were advised it was a ‘first come first served’ basis . Rather odd considering breakfast was included . Coffee machine wasnt working - all rather random to be honest !

The location is very good for visiting Edinburgh. Room was clean, and even though our windows were on a low floor the street is quiet.
The structure overall is neat but basic. The bathroom, quite spacious, lacked even the smallest shelf on which to put amenities.

They gave us smaller room than we booked, and the receptionist didn’t care at all, just said that they are fully booked and there was nothing she could do. Also, wanted to add that 2 girls on the reception were nice, however there was one more who seemed to hate her job… Extremely dirty carpet, I took my shoes off on the first day and my socks got so dirty after walking in the room before going to sleep, that I had to throw them away. We could hear every little noise from other rooms and the hall, so it was very hard to fall asleep. Very uncomfortable pillows. The hotel looked way better on pictures. And also, our card key stopped working on the first day, so we had to ask for the code… View was terrible- parking space, where motorcycles were waking us up at 7:00 every day. They offer tea and coffee, but the coffee machine was broken… Also, if you come in summer, I think it will not be possible to sleep at night, as there is no AC, we were there in April, and it already was too hot. Would not come back.

It was prime location, an easy walk to old town. Nice service and easy to check in and out.
More about the room, if you are more than 2 people and need a room with extra bed. It is likely you will be placed on ground floor, the access to room is in the lobby with outside window. The small room with bunkbed shared the wall with the main entrance, so my friend was woken up multiple times by people coming in and out.

The reception staff were incredibly helpful! I’ve rarely seen such professionalism and genuine willingness to assist. The location is perfect, the breakfast is great, and the bed is very comfortable.
