Poor
Nothing to like about this hotel sorry, well due an update. Location not too bad I guess.
Where do I start?!
Half the outdoor car park taken up with a skip and area around it fenced off. Rest of parking under ground with an height restriction of 1.8m which was not noted on the website so was an issue for us to park. Had to park over a mile away on the NCP near the castle and pay almost £40 to park my VW Transporter. Would have travelled in partners car if I was aware of height restrictions.
Pointed out to reception that they should mention the height restriction on the website, got a shirty response of that's nothing to do with me, not a, I do apologise I'll pass on your comments to management!
Also greated with a note on reception to "Oasis Guests" branding them yobs by all accounts, you'd think think all Oasis fans where violent rioters who have never stayed in an hotel before. No need for the note, at very least just "guests" would have been a better choice of welcome.
Shower wouldn't stay up in position which would be OK if I was 4 foot tall! Bathroom very dated, mould in grout, poor floor covering with mold etc, very dated.
Only 1 pillow per guest..
TV remote had tape holding batteries in.
No tea bags in room.
Slow to none bar service, stood there for 5 mins before leaving.
Reception couldn't cope with volume of people checking in. One person doing all the work whilst another was just on a computer
Poor breakfast for cost
Overall, very dated rooms. Considering we was charged over £300 for one night it was down right ludicrous. Extorting guests as there was 3 events in the city going on.

Staff were friendly and helpful
Room was dirty, cobwebs, hairs in the bath, old toiletries on the floor in the bathroom, bed uncomfortable, furniture was tired. Extortionate pricing for what we received.

Over priced hotel. £370 for a basement room with no windows.

Poor
The location was good for the purpose of the stay
Due to oasis and the fringe, a room with no windows cost us £315. The room was dirty, mould in the room and the bathroom. Toilet roll hanger falling off the wall, stains on the wall. Pillow was uncomfortable.

I understand it was an opportunity to make more money due to demand because of the oasis concert. And I don’t begrudge that at all.
But to pay £400.00 for a small, dirty, blood on sheets, window unlockable, peeling paint to ceiling, Waller with mould, tiny double bed that would only fit a small man and child
See above.

Pleasant
Prime location for access to both the city for the festival and nurrayfield for the concert.
Bar prices were pretty reasonable given the location.
Bed was comfortable.
On arrival we were greeted to a document reminding Oasis guests to basically behave themselves... pretty poor and stereotypical
Long delays at bar for service, at one point stood in a queue at the bar for 10 minutes without any staff even acknowledging our presence, or other guests. After the event, only 1 person running the bar. Poor planning on their part.
Staff were very rude on a couple of occasions. We checked in at agreed time and went to our room as directed, only to be told off by the cleaner as the room was not ready, and then interrogated as to who told us it was...
Whilst the room was clean and comfortable, it was very dated and in need of a touch up.
Fridge was in room, but not plugged in. Coffee sachets already open, and enough refreshments for 1 person out of 2 to have a drink. No plug near the kettle....

Hotel dirty and very dated, beds extremly uncomfortable and staff miserble. Location is great and it does the job for somewhere to rest your head for a few hours but thats it.

Good
Great location for going to see oasis at murrayfield, nice walk along river. Rooms were good sized and very clean. Bar area was nice
Bed uncomfortable and the pillow i had was rock hard. I understand it was busy but didnt get access to our room till 40 min after check in. For the price we paid that is not acceptable. Bar area very small, someone could of let us know there was seating other side of reception instead of people having to stand about. Directions to rooms was shocking and very confusing. Car park full and struggled to find anywhere to park

We were in the city for the oasis concert so the location was perfect for Murrayfield stadium,.and close to the train station for getting home in the morning
The price,.due to the concert the price was raised to double the amount as a normal stay would be
