The food was amazing at breakfast and dinner Staff very friendly and helpful . I felt very well cared for and that is important when you are alone!!Mia at check in was very helpful and approachable. Thankyou for such a very pleasant stay
The room doors were so noisy when opened and closed but not really a huge problem. Also I think the desk mirror in the window of the single room should be removed so you can see out.

Wonderful
The styling of this beautiful old property was beautiful. Our room had a gorgeous view of the gardens across the road through the huge bay windows. Beds were super comfortable and even though Edinburgh was cold, the room had 2 very efficient radiator heaters so warm and toasty. The shower had good pressure and the water was nice and hot. Lots of room in both the room and bathroom. Food in the restaurant/bar was delicious and value for money. Shout out to Taylor who helped us during the day with our small requests and Martin the night manager who went above and beyond, making us coffees at 5 in the morning, hauling our heavy bags down the stairs for us when we checked out and just being an all round top guy.
Friday and Saturday nights are noisy! The restaurant and bar downstairs go off and theres a DJ, so loud bass and people laughing, talking and enjoying themselves can be heard into the wee hours of the morning. So if youre there for these nights wear some earplugs!

It was clean and the staff was Okay. That seems to me a normal situation and attitude for a hotel/restaurant/bar.
The room was very small. The two persons bed was no kingsize bed. It was very small. The were no chairs to sit for two persons. The restaurant/bar was very noisy. In fact it was a pub with hard music with a restaurant facility. People keep in the premises until early in the morning, and after leaving the bar keep shouting and speaking outside. The price/quality was very poor. People can better avoid this place.

Its not that I didnt like this. I was in room 205 which has a park view, there is space there for a table and 2 chairs. Only one chair in the room and I sat on a case. Whats the point of a park view if you cant sit and enjoy it

The location was excellent. The staff were friendly and the bar was beautifully decorated. Breakfast was lovely
The shower was poor. Warm not hot. Pressure was weak. The hairdryer stopped working mid blow dry and I had to request another one. The main view from our room was an air vent!

Almost nothing. Impossible to sleep due to noise coming from the restaurant.Staff very unprofessional, they were supposed to service restaurant and hotel at the same time and hotel issues were let down. In the first room we had nothing worked: we had to shower almost cold, one shower screen was missing, faucet had a leak,
I did not like or enjoy anything. For the price and theoretical category of the hotel the stay was a complete disaster. Service very amateur like a school- hotel but with the prices of a 4-star. Really spoiled our last days in Scotland.Very noisy as restaurant and pub were prioritized over hotel facilities. Room very small and extremely uncomfortable, only thinking about the design and not about clients who had to use it, lots of stairs regardless what floor or what you needed to do, nobody to help with luggage, packed breakfast offered for the last morning and forgotten,
