Disappointing
staff at night were not interested and had 0 interest in customer service
reception was poorly marked. and when i eventually got there the staff were more interested in their conversations then helping us.. why work there if ure not interested in customer service. u might as well deploy a self service systen
wen we found our room.by ourselves after some time. it was dirty curtains broken and not private. room doors dont go to the floor so u can here the other guests talking and having fun
day staff ok but checkout instructions are not clear booking.com says 11 but its actually 10

Very Good
Staff allowed us to leave our backpacks and then brought it to the room before we came, thank you!
Breakfast was absolutely stunning, the best one from all the Scottish breakfasts we have had. Be aware that it is still a la carte breakfast, not an open table. Clean, very good smelling soap and shampoo.
The bar was running till probably 2 or 3am with the guests having fun very loudly - that did not help to have a good sleep. It is not the most central location, like 15-20mins walk but along a beautiful meadow and streets.

Beautiful venue with the perfect vibe. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The food and drinks list is exceptional. I’d go back here again and again.

Wonderful
Great room, nice and big with everything we needed, excellent views.
Boisterous Saturday night crowd, the bar/restaurant is very popular and busy, the crowd were slow to move on after closing time, noisy not badly behaved!

Fair
The room was spacious, modern with a comfy bed and a very good ensuite. The location by the Meadows was lovely as it was outside the main city centre but within easy reach of the centre on foot or by bus. The welcome staff were helpful and made you feel welcome when you arrived. Some good restaurants in easy reach.
Our stay was not good as the room was in the front over the bar and outside seating. There was an extended licence every night for the four nights of our stay so there was constant noise and we did not get to sleep until past one 1am every night.
The food was general pub food and we only ate there on the night we arrived. The breakfast was particularly disappointing as it was completely inflexible with no choice of cereals or fruit, only porridge or granola. It was not possible to deviate from the set combination on the menu and on one day in particular, my husband requested a reduced cooked breakfast and it came with everything and he was told he had to have everything even if he didn't want it.
Parking was difficult and our car was parked some four streets away where the charge was slightly less. Parking is via an app.

Wonderful
Lovely hotel - great decor, good facilities and friendly staff. The bar/restaurant was a lively place with a real buzz about it. Food was good too. Location was ideal for us - tho it isn’t in the centre of the city.
The shower in room 101 needs attention. This was reported and I’m sure it’ll have been fixed.

Very Good
Room size, location friendly staff
Could not cool the room
Portions at dinner are far too small for the price
We sat at the terrace for a drink for 20 minutes and no body came to serve despite hand raising for attention
