The staff are really good and very efficient and helpful.
Only issue is pets in the restaurant, no issues with it being a pet friendly hotel but feeding your pet under the table at breakfast is a bit much.

Great location in village feel area with close proximity by bus to Old town Edinburgh or the town centre (23 bus)
In house restaurant and bar with great food menu
No A/c (didn’t need it as windows open & for winter each room has a heater
Stairs as you go into the hotel but reception staff will help if asked , some rooms are accessed by 8-10 steps if this is an issue check on booking

Great location, wonderful staff, heritage building is cool
Wish the room had a bar fridge. Room was also quite warm, we know it’s summer and it’s warm, and the provided fan certainly helped, but sleeping was difficult with the heat.

Cute older building with updated comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast! Very convenient location next to Bruntsfield Links - an easy walk to the University and town center.
Due to the recent hot weather in Edinburgh the room was pretty hot. The hotel has no air conditioning and the window only opened a few inches. They did supply a fan which was helpful.

The location is fantastic, right by Bruntsfield links and great for accessing Edinburgh and all the sites. Nice lobby, rooms were clean with new bathrooms. Good to have the parking option too including free EV charger.
The restaurant wasn’t great and doesn’t match a 4 star rating. We ate there because we had elderly parents and meeting other family so after a long drive it seemed the right choice. But it was pretty basic pub food, service was not great (although staff were very pleasant). Breakfast was decent although some staff a bit grumpy and service quite slow.
