Location,staff,breakfast and bar. General ambience,and room size for an older building..
Constant creaking on various rooms,and corridors. UK regulations that selfclose doors (with a bang !). No face towels available for longer stay guests. Too many up and down stairs on the long corridors,especially if you have one or two bags.

Our room was big and spacious. Very comfy bed. Breakfast was great, spot on! The staff were lovely too.
Only negative would be there wasnt any warm water one evening when I wanted a shower but it was warm the next morning.

Property was lovely, nice and peaceful. Bar staff were lovely, and food was good.
Room quirky with really uneven floor - but we didn't mind this! . Asked for a fan as room a bit hot - no problem providing us with one. Bed comfy, bathroom lovely and roomy.
We arrived there after our son had an accident (he lives in Viewforth just along from hotel), and broken his back in multiple places - so we were under a lot of stress at the time. The staff were extremely nice and lifted our spirits.
Have to give a special mention to the breakfast staff, PAULINE, JEAN, and young CJ. They brightened our spirits in the morning and gave us a lift. Not to mention that the breakfast was fabulous, everything was perfect for us, and the staff were extremely efficient. Really helped us enjoy our stay.
Loved the location - we sat in the park across the road with a coffee every day and watched the world go past. T
He wee cafes and shops either side of the hotel were charming too, and location central to most things with good transport links. All I. All we loved it and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Would be good if they did seasonal "deals" so more affordable for people.

Close to the bus routes. Nice size room.
The bed was odd. Had a hump in the middle like it was 2 twin beds put together.

Location was nice. Staff was very helpful and kind! Bathroom was awesome too!
Bed was lumpy. Kind of hot without a/c but staff was kind enough to provide a fan which helped a lot.
