Spacious family room. Wonderful gluten free breakfast options. Quiet situated next to the park.
The rooms were a bit warm and the single fan was a bit dusty. Once we cleaned it ourselves it was ok to use.
The bunk beds were great for the kids but pretty creaky when moving around.

The location was brilliant for us and the breakfast was good. Our room only had a small window with a lovely view of the castle. All the staff were extremely friendly.
Our room was warm so we had to run a fan whenever there even though it was cool outside. Also, the window (with view on castle) was extremely dirty and didn’t look like it had been washed in 6 months or more.

Very nice hotel and location, close to restaurants and other amenities. Staff was super friendly and breakfast was quite good.
I booked for 4 adults and 2 children, the reservation for some reason was booked through Booking and the hotel as just 4 adults. I tried resolving the issue through the chat, but I felt I was treated like I was trying to scam the hotel. As the chat doesn't allow attachments, I sent an email with all required printscreens to show the issue (showing recent searches for 4 adults and 2 children, and Booking rooms suggestion), explaining how to reproduce the exact same error (searching rooms for a family of 4 adults and 2 children makes Booking suggest 1 superior and 1 standard room, when the superior room does NOT suit a 2 adults and 2 children), and although they resolved it with a room upgrade (or else the children would not have where to sleep) I was still charged for their breakfast (which at least was not expensive), and hotel didn't even had the consideration of replying my email. When I asked reception about the email, gentleman said that even with the email that was the management decision. At checkout I told them they should check their booking.com settings for each room as they were wrong and pointing to incorrect number of guests for those rooms, I was told they never had this issue and was told to complain to Booking.com. Now the issue is mysteriously fixed and making the same search for the same amount of people it suggests bigger rooms.

We loved everything about the place. It. Was located in old town and within 10-15 min walking from major sites. We were upgraded and the room has plenty of room, very modern, with daily refreshment of coffee, bottled water and local chocolate. Breakfast was the best part -great selection plus traditional Scottish breakfast option.
The front desk was very courteous and accommodating. They also gave us suggestions for local restaurants.

Room size was good. Breakfast was good. Area was a bit dark and gloomy and utilitarian. Location of hotel was good. Bus stops really close. Not many good restaurants nearby but Papilio served very good food (Italian Restaurant).
Key card didn't work very well. Took three attempts each timne to enter the room.

Friendly, welcoming team - reception and restaurant servers.
Very clean. Good size bedroom with a large, comfortable bed. Big bathroom with separate shower. Good quality, large towels.
Breakfast buffet for cereals, juice, continental selection. Order from a selection of cooked breakfasts - vegetarian options too.
Across the road is Bruntsfield Links. Beautiful grass park. Lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and bus stops on the doorstep.
We took our dog - extra cost. He was very well accommodated - understandable rules apply. Bed and bowls in the room. He was allowed in the dining room. The only place we've found who have allowed this. Plus walking for him on the Links. Some restaurants close by allowed him in for evening meals too.
Not complaining but the coffee capsules in the room weren't marked, so didn't know 'flavours'.
Continental selection at breakfast could be much better. Queues for hot drinks, toast maybe could be improved, changed, larger.
None of this affected our stay.

I had a single room and it was quite comfortable. The view over the park was lovely. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed the sitting area. Bathroom was clean and good sized. The breakfast was good with good options. The Neighborhood restaurant was very good. We had a lovely Easter dinner there. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Really appreciate the umbrella rental!!
Sadly the shower head did not want to stay put and I ended up showering holding the shower head. While they tried to fix it, the fix didn't hold. The single room was good for me but the large furniture (for clothes and storage)was just too big for the room and to get from one side to the other you have to sidestep small steps sideways past the bed. I would have preferred a smaller piece of furniture to just hang clothes and a luggage rack to hold my suitcase. It would make moving around the room so much nicer.

We had stayed in the Bruntsfield Hotel some years previously and it looked tired but the place is looking good.
The amenities are good for the room and liked the free tunnocks tea cakes and large bottle of water
Unfortunately time constraints ment I did not have the breakfast but will go back later in the year.
Staff were really kind and friendly.

Some people might find the corridors confusing but I had no issues.
