very smooth check in, staff very friendly and helped me out with a forgotten adapter, room was very clean, quiet and spacious, bed very comfortable, did not have time to try pool or spa, location excellent, bus stop just outside the hotel
perhaps a fridge in the room to cool a drink would be nice, the breakfast was missing vegetables and it could have been a bit better but we loved that the hotel provided us with a breakfast box as we had a morning tour so this was actually nice fruit and healthy food

Poor service at restaurants, food good for evening meals. Breakfast average No air conditioning or fridge in the room. Noisy due to connecting doors not providing adequate sound insulation.

The breakfast was excellent! The quality of the food I had was excellent but what really set the breakfast and the King’s Manor aside was the quality of the staffing- I needed support due to mobility and other health problems. I sat (as I wished) in a quiet and pleasant area, well looked after by India who was exceptionally thoughtful, empathetic and supportive, and by her colleagues Alysa and Morgan who were also excellent. It made for a very relaxing but enjoyable breakfast experience- and I felt more bonded with the hotel.

Good location, great access to train station to get into Edinburgh and can also walk to Portobello beach
We had a door in our room for the adjoining room and on occasions were disturbed by sound coming through from our loud neighbours (not hotels fault just the door limits the sound proofing)
