Good
Parking was good, beds were comfortable
Shower isn't powerful enough, and there wasn't hot water on the morning of the 13th of Feb, the food was mediocre

Wonderful
The staff were lovely and helpful, the location was directly opposite a bus stop into town so very convenient for parking at the hotel for free then heading into town for the day. The bathtub had super hot water, great for a relaxing bath after walking all day. The breakfast was super good value to add onto the booking and had a reasonable number of options. The food in the restaurant was yummy for dinner but a little pricey. The bed was comfortable.
Pillows could use an upgrade. The TV was at a very high awkward angle to watch. The blinds had some dead bugs on them but they were very high so would be difficult to clean. The restaurant is a little pricey (£50 for two mains and one soft drink).

Pleasant
We have stayed here before, it’s a cheap and cheerful option for accommodation in Edinburgh, the room wasn’t as clean as we would prefer but it was fine for one night
Cleanliness of the room. Undercooked sausages at breakfast.

Very Good
Easy to find it was on our route. Could bus into the city only 15 minutes to Princess Street. Good breakfast. Large comfortable bed.
Room on 3rd floor , no lift, stairs were hard work for us. But we are old probably wouldn't bother lots of people. The towel rail in the bathroom didn't get hot, so that room was cold.

Since I’m a romance author and my stay in Braid Hills Hotel was scheduled around the promotion of my debut romance novel that’s mainly set in the Scottish Highlands and Edinburgh, it was more than I could’ve ever hoped for. The victorian styled hotel that breathes coziness gives you all the feels. We stayed there in December, just before Christmas, the hotel having been already decorated with Christmas songs gently playing through the speakers. The tartan-like curtains, the cozy little corner in the hotels bar that felt like it was reserved just for me and my friend, to celebrate the release of my book, coincidentally named “A Different Corner”. It was absolutely amazing. And a major plus is that there is a bus station just under the hotel from where the bus takes you directly to the center of Edinburgh, without having to transfer.
There wasn’t a single thing that we didn’t like.

Wonderful
Warm, nice hotel, good price, nice location and very friendly staff.
Can hear people in corridors very easily due to gap at bottom of door which also let a lot of light through at night. Possibly have draft excluders in rooms for people to use if wanted. But really that’s a very small issue nothing major. It was a fabulous hotel.
