Exceptional
Nice traditional style hotel in a nice location. It has character, friendly staff, and i had a huge, comfortable room with a very comfortable bed.
Nothing.

Wonderful
Where it was ci located. Perfect
The property was fine, the staff were very friendly and polite. Only one problem, the breakfast was expensive and the choices was not worth the price. The coffee was not good and the choices of milk were very few. Dinner was perfect. Thanks

Izzy.
Everything else. The hotel has really deteriorated I have to say since I was last there. The price was so much more than when I was there previously so I was hoping improvements had been made. The price of this for the facilities I had in our room was awful. The headboard was not even connected to the bed.
I encouraged many people to stay here this weekend. I was a little embarrassed.

Poor
Fine building externally, good location
Shabby worn carpets, awful interior decor. We were allocated a tiny room only suitable for single occupancy and had to pay extra for a larger room as we were staying for four nights. Our room was not serviced for two consecutive days

Nice room and hotel overall had a lovely style. Staff was very pleasant.
Water pressure was very low in the shower. When notifying the staff they weren't aware so perhaps it usually is better.

Very Good
Spectacular views if you have a room at the front of the building. Rooms generally a good size, but vary a lot, e.g. some with desk and some not - have stayed here a number of times.

Good
The room had a beautiful view. The staff were very kind and helpful. Public transportation is easily accessible from the hotel, which makes it convenient for getting around the city.
The room did not fully match the photos shown online. The hotel seemed understaffed however, we were informed about this in advance. There were also some noises from the bathroom when the water was running, as well as from neighboring rooms.

Disappointing
The location with a great view of Arthur's seat and the castle plus the comfy seating in the foyer where it was nice to relax before going out. Bus stop directly outside into Edinburgh city centre.
The whole place is tired. Needs redecorating from top to bottom. Our room was ok but it just felt gloomy up in the attics. NO LIFT!! and miles of corridors with strange printed out cheap paintings. Torn seating in the dining room and scarce bar staff so took an age to get a drink.

Everything- location is amazing and staff wonderful- best is the mascot Magnus. I always choose Braid Hills when I’m in Edinburgh
That I could not stay longer as my schedule would not allow it - seriously not a single thing needs to be changed or improved

Wonderful
A beautiful building and although it's a little way out of the city it was excellent value for money in the expensive Edinburgh area. An excellent bar and restaurant meant everything was at your fingertips, and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Rooms are a bit on the small side.

Disappointing
Location
Very small room, dim view, cobwebs, broken ironing board and wardrobe door, bulb dead in light, limited space and storage. Dark car park.

Very beautiful view and good access to the city centre. Very friendly staff and great breakfast.
The room was too small and didn’t have a good view. It was not worth the price.

Disappointing
Lovely friendly welcome on check in, smiling cleaning staff when met in corridor, bar staff very pleasant and amenable
Decor in rooms extremely shabby. I have attached some examples, I could have attached more! The room was large with a good view but icy cold despite radiator being on full blast! The bathroom was freezing, window stuck slightly open. Not conducive to getting showers! I did not have breakfast but others in our party did and said was below par. I saw other rooms as family staying, ours was worst but they all very shabby with issues. Why do the wardrobes not have doors?! Why is the tv so high up?! This hotel could be lovely if spent some time and money on reviewing and upgrading these rooms. Very disappointing.
