Wonderful
Welcoming reception. Friendly restaurant staff. Wholesome Scottish breakfast. Well maintained decor. Useful in-room refreshments. Very good en-suite shower room. Very handy for tram and Waverley station being in New Town.

I enjoyed breakfast.
The climb to the third floor felt long (especially as the ceilings are so high (the hotel is a fine Georgian house)) -- but was OK.

We only spent one day in Edinburgh, but it was a huge help that we could leave our suitcases at the hotel before the check-in time and then leave them there for a few hours after checking out the next day.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
And the size of the TV...wow!
And the body lotion ( great quality) provided in the bathroom was very useful after a whole day of wind and cold weather.
Everyone at the reception was very friendly and helpful.
There could be a little more space between the tap and the toilet, but I say this because I'm carrying around quite a lot of unnecessary weight.

It was a fun Victorian style property. My room had a gorgeous view of the city. The staff were excellent and kind. The location is prefect. The hotel is a 7-10 minute walk to Waverley or a 3-5 minute walk to the Edinburgh Bus Station. It’s easy to walk over to Old Town and the Royal Mile. If you prefer to stay out of the busy tourist areas, there is great food and bars just a short walk away.
I knew this before booking, but there is no elevator. I was okay with that, but just wanted to flag it for anyone that may have mobility issues. The walls were unfortunately very thin on the top floor. I could hear my neighbors TV and their conversations through the wall.

Everything was brilliant! The most important thing was the location. The hotel is right in the middle of the Edinburgh city centre; you can get to Princes Street in just a few steps, and it is a maximum 10-minute walk to the Old Town (Castle area). The staff were really helpful and friendly. A great shout-out to Thomas, Maria, and Kishore!
