Wonderful
The hotel was very clean. The room was spacious considering it was for a single occupancy. The location is amazing and the staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good and everything was clean. I would definitely book it again if I come back to Edinburgh.
The single rooms were on the second floor and the hotel doesn’t have an elevator. However staff will help with luggage. Therefore, I recommend you book something in lower floors and contact the hotel about that. Unfortunately during my stay it was fully booked so I couldnt change rooms so I recommend you take that into consideration.

The staff was so lovely and helpful. The room was beautiful, warm, welcoming, and clean. Gorgeous view from my window. Check in was a breeze and they helped get my large suitcase up stairs.

I loved the view out of the window and how much space was in the room itself. The bathroom was lovely and the bedding was super clean. I was super happy with the staff members and how informative and kind they were.
The pillows were just a little too firm but that may just be due to personal preference. There's no lift within the building which can be difficult for people with bad legs like me. The walls beween rooms are slightly thin and can hear everything between them!

Amazing location. Nice staff and comfortable bed. Definitely would stay here again. View from my window was amazing.
Walls are thin. Could hear the other rooms. But we all seemed to be on similar schedules and I was not kept awake by them. There’s no lift. 69 steps up to the top floor. I did not mind. Others might not be willing to do that hike.

The location was very close to the bus station, the train station, and a short walk to the Royal Mile. There were excellent restaurants within close proximity. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was not available when I was there, but they refunded me for the missed meals.

What a perfect stay! Superbly nice staff and owners. This hotel is just finishing up an expansion into another building two doors down. The attention to detail and beautiful decor was stunning. We ran into a small new-construction snag that was instantly remedied with friendliness and generosity. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there again. Breakfast was delicious, as well. An excellent experience dealing with lovely people.
The only caution we could give is to have your muscles ready if you’re staying on a higher floor. There is no lift and you may have to carry your luggage, though there is staff there to assist.

Great location
It should be called Auchuitz Hotel because it is an OVEN. This review is only for days over 18°C. Window wide open to a extremely noisy street, fan on full blast. Never dropped below 23° in the room. Even at 3am and 10° outside.

Disappointing
Staff were very friendly and the room itself was fine: clean, equipped with ironing board, hair dryer, kettle with tea & coffee, etc. The location also worked well for me, and there are some cafes nearby with good breakfast options.
The water “pressure” in the shower was comically pathetic. Merely the thought of a suggestion of a drizzle. You’d be better off standing outside on a misty morning.
And although the window opened slightly, there’s no mechanical ventilation or A/C, so the room got uncomfortably hot, even at night.
