Very Good
Excellent location and breakfast - both buffet and freshly cooked (worth having). Powerful shower and very comfortable bed. Clean, well equipped rooms. Comfortable bar with bar food and friendly staff.
Exceptionally dirty windows on 7th floor, which is a shame because the rooms themselves are clean. Like most hotels in Edinburgh, it’s expensive compared to the rest of the uk (but no worse than other Edinburgh hotels).

We got a free room upgrade and they let us check in early! It was beautiful, historical on the outside and modern but with a touch of its own history inside like the framing of the downstairs layout.

Great location , spotless very friendly staff breakfast delicious
Left luggage while shopping after checking and the staff member made us go into the cupboard to pick it up and ushered us out back door towards train station when we asked if we could use toilet and planned to have another drink as had time to spare , ended up at the balmoral for a glass of wine before train, just didn’t expect that level of unprofessionalism as everything else was first class , was disappointed and may look at another hotel for next visit

It was fabulous in a great location, breakfast was amazing with a huge variety of food on offer to suit all tastes, staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one, I went for a birthday with my daughter and the had cake and a birthday balloon in the room on arrival, beautiful touch

Room was very clean, comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. Very convenient as the hotel is steps to Waverly Train Station from the back entrance of the hotel. Good breakfast available at a reasonable price. I was initially given a room on a low floor facing the internal courtyard and had no mobile signal. They upgraded my room when one was available the next day when I informed them about the issue. Kudos to the team for the swift service recovery.

Great location and easily accessible. The staff were helpful and the rooms were tidy.
The beds in our room were uncomfortable and one of them had a bedspring that was poking out. The shower drain was dirty and clogged.

Location was great
The money that was spent for 1 night for 1 room to have a view of a wall that was incredibly disappointing especially when I had booked it so far in advance
The pillows were horrible so uncomfortable
Breakfast was okay I was again extremely dissatisfied that a near £20pp Breakfast and was given half a slice of black pudding and to be honest I would have got a better and cheaper Breakfast else where but we thought the Breakfast must be a bit better than your average fry up... it wasn't so I wouldn't waste my money again
