The location was great. The hotel is right on Grassmarket square, which has a lovely vibe with lots of restaurants and bars with their tables outside. All close to most Fringe venues. The pool and suana were great.

- The shouting outside our bedroom window 10pm until midnight. We watched hotel staff say something to the shouter but didn’t do enough to make them move away.
- Our room lights stopped working for 15 mins in the morning meaning we couldn’t use the bathroom to get ready. Staff sorted them out in the end but our schedule was impacted, which was frustrating.
-We couldn’t get in the restaurant as it was too over run. We were told it would be an hour to wait for food.

The hotel staff , facilities, restaurant absolutely lived up to expectations. The room was immaculate and the view was to die for . We had been at the Tattoo early show and watched all the light show from the evening show from our room . We only stayed one night , would I spend that much anywhere else - probably not . Would I spend the same again here - most definitely. Breathtaking. We shall book again .

family room but provision for only one suitcase! limited hanging/storage space. too many cushions/pillows cluttering up what space there was. bathroom poorly designed, dearth of mirrors, one hook for 4 people! bath difficult to access because shower screen blocked by basin. wash basin crazed and chipped and set too low

Location, size of room and bathroom. Location to Edinburgh Castle.
No air conditioning. Supplied fan, but had to sleep with window open to cool room. Noisy motor running in outdoor vent, 24/7. Cost of parking. 20 pounds a day is excessive.

Where it is, central, comfortable bed, tea and coffee in the room.
The price was hugely hiked for the Edinburgh festival. The room was ok, no a/c, when you managed to crank open the filthy window you could hear whirring for the rooms that did have a/c! The bathroom had a weird low sink. Generally it felt like the hotel was been worked hard, possibly too hard, one of the lifts was out, the other seemed to be often filled with stressed maintenance staff. Apex was hosting comedy acts for the fringe, so the lobby area was a sea of flyers. Anyway …. Not bad but have had better at apex

Brilliant view of Edinburgh Castle from balcony room.
No air conditioning was a big negative. Entrance to hotel has quite a few stairs which makes it difficult with luggage.

The position for getting around Edinburgh was fantastic! I was travelling solo Gran with a 3 year old and it was perfect for getting around. The room was comfy and had everything we needed. The pool a great bonus. Breakfast was exceptional and really good value.

The plug in bathroom did not work meaning no bath. Long black hairs in bath too.

Friendly staff. Good sized room with view. Facilities in room were very good and no shortage of shower/bath shampoo, conditioner , wash and body lotion. Bed was firm and comfortable. Lifts were quiet and worked well. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were cheerful and cooked breakfast orders were taken and served at table. Bar and food available Didn’t try swimming pool etc so can’t comment on that facility. Paid for upgrade to room with castle view which was great. Staff keen to assist if any information needed.
Three short flights of steps to reception and lifts. Partner found these difficult as he has mobility difficulties. Check-in was stressful - a coach group arrived and swamped area and I had to wait to as staff were issuing keys to group first. Foyer by lift was being utilised as entry for Fringe event ( I think) and was crowded at times. Breakfast area again, short flights of steps down into the buffet area and back up to table so partner didn’t attempt access.
