The view to the castle
The thing that I didnt like is the recipients did not help us with our bags ( big four once) and one of them was looking and smiling while we took our bags downstairs since they dont have elevators between the main gate and the reception. Also, the info of the hotel in booking said that hotel has an AC in the room but there was not the was only a small fan

Staff were excellent. Rooms clean. Location great with a view of the castle from our room.
Had dinner there one night. Food okay and services big slow. Staff were nice though.

I could only stay one of the 2 nights I had booked because I had to head back to the states because a hurricane was rolling in. I Let the hotel know when I checked in. They had light occupancy ( I asked ) but still charged me for the used night . Please dont stay here as they are not looking at you guests best interest at all only there own- So sad to see as I was a repeat guest . Lots of choices in Edinburgh to stay - this is not one of them, ever !!

Fantastic location great facilities. Majority of staff were very friendly and very helpful. Stunning views of Edinburgh castle.
The rooms were too hot even though we stayed in late September. A fan in the room but far from ideal for sleeping. Could not open the windows.

Breakfast was good and bad. The badonly way to get a coffee was using one machine which took forever. Please put out some easily accessible filter coffee!! The good, cooked ordered breakfast was awesome.

Clean, peaceful in a busy area which is nice. I asked if anything special can be done due to us celebrating a birthday and so balloons were set up with towels, chocolates and a little duck, this was very much appreciated. Pool facilities were all too ourselves at the time so got to enjoy them with a nice view of the castle in the background.

Disappointing
Overated. Staff is not really helpful. Hotel is old, designed super warm (like it was said by the staff) so unbearable to stay during summer without AC coz u cant open the window. Right across the grassmarket and it was noisy.

Our spacious room had a fabulous view of Edinburgh Castle. Great location with many nearby places for dinner. Enjoyed dinner at the bar one night. Thank you for the chocolates.
The floor was squeaky, we could hear the people in the room above us due to the floor squeaking.

The location is excellent for the grassmarket and exploring in/around the castle
A few of the reception staff were lovely and there was a lovely welcome card for my daughter as it was a visit to celebrate her success at getting into university.
The room was on the first floor overlooking a patio area and roofs, whereas the promotion of the hotel shows lovely views of the castle which cost a significant amount more. The room was also very dark due to its location with very warm given weather outside
