Location was brilliant right at Grassmarket and the staff, meals, the room were all great. We spent Easter here catching our breath in one place and explored Edinburgh. A great stay.

The property was in a great location, walkable to shopping and restaurants as well as several local sites. The view of the castle from our room was outstanding - we stayed on two occasions and had balcony rooms both times, well worth it!
Because it’s in such a great location, you will hear all the pub crawlers until at least four in the morning. It did not keep us awake, but if you woke up, you could hear a lot of partying.

Right on the Main Street of Old Town, loads of coffee places around. Alastair in reception was the best! Great sense of humor and helpful.
We loved having 2 rooms for ourselves and 3 kids so that we could have a quiet room and a play room during our 4 days stay in Edinburgh.
Also, our kids loved the warm pool for those chilly and rainy Scottish days.

Really well situated near the city centre, very pleasing to the eye and quiet
Only complaint is that there was a bit of mould along the window edges, due to condensation buildup

Location was fantastic and staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful.
Noise is a massive issue. There is very little soundproofing in the hotel so you would be woken by crying children in rooms above/below/beside yours throughout the night. Bangs in other rooms would also cause your own to shake. We didn’t have castle view so can’t comment on street noise but at the back of the hotel we had construction type noises starting before 5am.

Perfect location. Excellent rooms that have everything you need and are well-kept. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. We didn't use the extra services such as the swimming pool and the room service, but the fact that all of these are here at an incredibly good price makes this hotel a great pick. I would happily come here again.
I wasn't a fan of the shower purely because you have to stand in the bathtub. Just a personal preference, but it didn't negatively impact my experience here.
