The location was fantastic. Couldn’t have picked a better spot. Staff on arrival were very helpful and friendly. We were lucky to get an early check-in that made our day activities go ahead smoothly. Breakfast was included and it was excellent. We tried the Scottish breakfast.
It was good to have parking, but after playing a premium price for the room, £20 on top for the parking.

Castle view was excellent! Hotel was clean, staff were exceptional. A great stay!
Noise from street at night, since rooms overlook busy street/entertainment district. Closing the windows helps a bit.

Parking was hard to find. But we managed ok. I’d say it was more our fault than anything else due to being new to driving on the left hand side.

Location
They gave us obstacled view room although we paid city view room and you dont see any of those rooms in the booking site of the hotel. After staying in that room 1 night we asked for a change because when we did checkin receptionist told us theyre fully booked and she told us with an attitude! The other day we asked for changing our room to and they gave us the room we actually paid for. But unfortunately room was not clean it looked clean but there was a unbearable smell. I dont know where was it coming from maybe from the carpet. Not worth the money we paid for.

Location and the breakfast (which in my opinion the cooked breakfast is right up there! Some people may think other selections not that good but for me the cooked is one of the best I have had)

The location and the view
The room was too hot with no aircon only a portable table fan. The door to the balcony was broken. The bed for a 4 star hotel was uncomfortable was like sleeping on springs. Over priced hotel overall

During our whole trip where we stayed in four different hotels, this was the best one. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and wonderful room.

Loved the birthday items set up for my son. Upgrade to the room with the castle view was a lovely surprise for us adults. The location is perfect. Reception staff and head waiter/waitress in the restaurant was good too.
The evening meal was lovely, steaks were cooked perfectly, however the onion rings were burnt.
The rooms are a little tired in places. The breakfast was disappointing, the vegetarian breakfast was overcooked, namely the sausages,veg haggis and .poached egg were all over cooked and hard. One waitress had long plaited hair but I noticed the end of it was swiping into people's food when she was carrying the plates, she also had no personal skills. The breakfast was not replenished and with an hour still left of service, some food items from the hot area was out of stock. There was a spillage made by another guest and none of the waiting staff thought to clean it up. It was a slip hazard and I informed the head person who immediately set to cleaning it. We didnt have breakfast again as we didnt think it was worth it.

Central
It was very warm inside the hotel, in the room, in the hallway, breakfast area. Very uncomfortable. We had a fan in our room and had to leave the balcony door open. And the»balcony» is no balcony in mine standards…. Lovely view of the castle but it was more like a fire escape balcony. Could not sit out side, and it looks very shabby. Very expensive and felt like we did not get value for our money. Breakfast was good, but it was short of staff so we had to approach the waitress to take out order . At the front desk it was only one man and a long queue of guests needing attention. Would not stay here again.
