Location was fantastic, the hotel is ok, it seems a little overpriced for what it offers but I reckon the location is worth the price
It seems like there’s a fee and upsell for everything, they send you automatic emails (I’d hope) days before and several times, to ask whether you want to upgrade “things” for a price, I’m not saying one should get everything for free at all given time, but hotels could show a little extra care for special occasions and celebrations instead of asking for money for small gestures of guest appreciation. Customer care is just as important as profit. Amos was fun and nice, although telling my poor fiancé his English was “ehhh” is something I’d avoid doing :)

Location was perfect.
Friendly gentleman who checked us in.
Very uncomfortable beds.
Poor Wi-Fi connection.
Heating didn’t work. Room got uncomfortably hot, particularly in the night.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Only a short walk to everywhere in Edinburgh!
Unfortunately, the heating in the room is stuck on 23 degrees which made it very difficult to sleep at night as it was way too hot and there was no way of turning it down.
Our room also had an interesting sewage smell that never went away. - we stayed for one night and were out of the room most of the time.

Ideal location to visit the main attractions. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very clean and tidy.
The rooms were very warm making it a bit uncomfortable at times. Although there was a bar/restaurant at the hotel, it was only used for breakfast. However, guests were able to use the facilities at the sister hotel, Apex Grassmarket, 50 yards away.

Lovely modern hotel in great location. Reception helpful and friendly.
The hotel bar was closed during our stay. We were aware of this prior to arriving and offered the Apex sister hotel bar, but still inconvenient, especially as the weather was bad.

It’s our 3rd stay at the Apex hotel . It’s a fabulous location .the rooms are lovely , clean and comfortable.the complimentary toiletries and having a normal size hairdryer are a bonus .. less to pack . Can’t fault it at really . We are looking to book again for next year !
There’s nothing not to like about the hotel . We did feel breakfasts were a little pricy and preferred to eat locally .. that’s just our personal preference . Also the view from the room wasn’t great .. hopefully next time we may get a room with a view!
