Wonderful
Hotel was in a great location in the heart of old town with a lot of great restaurants/pubs across the street. Room was clean and loved having air when the temps were above average and very hot. The staff was friendly and there was a water station to fill water bottles which I loved. The bed was a little firm for me, but was still really comfortable and had one of my best nights sleep on the trip there. The shower was great and easy to use. Nice amenities and WIFI.

The breakfast was fantastic and definitely worth the money.
There was no Aircon in the room and for the price of the room I would have expected it to have Aircon. It was unbelievably hot on the 4th floor and you could feel the heat as soon as you came out of the lifts. Due to this the room was unbearable to sleep in.

Very convenient. Very close to the castle and the greenmarket
Very impersonal. The breakfast room was perfunctory. Not appealing. The breakfast staff was quite rude. The front staff were pleasant and helpful. Also you cant pay through booking.com website. They send a complicated email/ paylink which may as well be spam to ignore and then they send another link to say you will lose your booking. Very unfriendly especially if you are using a website like booking.com to avoid the very issue

Lift in the hotel, although one was out of order the day we left. Staff were marvellous
Considering the price paid, the bed was far too small (should be a King), also no air conditioning, only a small fan provided.

Lack of air flow - we understand that you don’t have aircon ( given the heat in your rooms and corridors it’s time) when it’s 30 degrees inside and 17 outside that becomes OHS and windows barely open ( which for comfort should of been open more- shouldn’t have to sign disclaimer for an extra 10 cm!) plus had to prop a shoe there to hold it open!! prepare rooms for guests coming prior -open windows allow air in ( yes you had fans on and going- obviously knew it was uncomfortable) curtains should have been drawn to keep direct sun out .

Great Location, good staff, clean
I appreciate that you may not getting many really hot days in Edinburgh, but I booked 4x months in advance and only to arrive during a heatwave to find out that my room has no-air conditioning or windows, 'the rooms with a/c have now been taken' - disappointing.

Other than the heat and water the room was very nice and the staff were very friendly and polite.
The room was far too hot as we were not allowed the air conditioning on. We did not get much sleep due to this. Plus my feet become very swollen and uncomfortable due to the heat. We were given two fans but they did not help, especially as the window could only be opened by 2 inches.
You couldn't have a hot bath either as the hot water was tempered too low.
