The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean, there was a wide variety of options for breakfast although there didn't seem to be any option for gluten free
The price was a little high so expected a little more luxury than I got, for 2 nights I paid the same price as a family holiday for a week so did expect more

This hotel is in the perfect location! Directly across from some wonderful shops and restaurants, very close to Victoria Street shopping, with gorgeous views of the castle. A perfect spot! The staff at breakfast were great, and the food well worth the cost!
I found that the check-in staff had some room to be a bit friendlier. They were not mean or anything, but they could have done a bit more to welcome us.

Very convenient to all the tourist stops. Plenty of food and bars nearby.
We had front street facing windows and there were a few times people outside were having way too good of a time. But all in good fun.

I liked the lovely suite, and the comfort.
The views including the castle were really nice too. The coffee machine was a nice treat, along with the wee extras, including the duck.
I didn’t like the fact that as soon as I opened the fridge on arrival, a half eaten fish supper, and cheesy garlic bread had been left in a box. The whole fridge was stinking of fish.
I did have to take this down to the reception to be disposed of.
Also, there was some faeces smeared on one of the toilet rolls, and whoever did this moved the roll further down the stand. I decided to dispose of this myself, as I didn’t want anyone thinking it was one of us.

This was the absolute perfect location for exploring Edinburgh on foot. Comfortable space, bed, room, lobby, etc. Easy check in and check out process and appreciated the communication from the hotel. Bonus shout out for the filtered water filler stations on the floors of the hotel!
There is no air conditioning but typically you don't need to worry about that in Edinburgh. They did give us a fan that was sufficient. We did not have the breakfast as it seemed pricey compared to others in the neighborhood.
