This property is a Georgian townhouse with a lovely foyer and a beautiful balustraded staircase leading up to the second and third stories. It has all modern updates that don't take away from the charm of the historic home. It is also impeccably clean and has a warm home feel. It is very private with no traffic noise.
Mine was a cozy single room with en-suite and a great shower with a wall-mounted flat-screen television. I had a view of the lovely small back garden planted with hydrangea bushes.
Cathy and Lynn were very welcoming and incredibly helpful with main attraction locations, including a city map and the buses and routes available. Cathy ordered a taxi for me to arrive at 6:15 AM on the morning of my departure, ensuring I would make my early morning flight. Uber is not reliable.
Although it does not offer breakfast, it provides a kettle so you can serve yourself with a nice hot cup of cofee or tea anytime along with some fresh fruit and biscuits.
I look forward to staying with them again and highly recommend Amaryllis Guest House to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Very comfortable, airy, clean room within an easy walk to Grassmarket cafes & everything on the Royal Mile. Finally good pillows! Cathy & mother were very friendly & helpful.
Suggestion— better towels. Everything else was very upscale, but towels weren’t same quality as other bedding.

Cathy was a huge help with helping us find places, like a laundromat, calling ahead to enquire about services. She helped us find buses to take us where we were going. She recommended cafes in the area, offered to call a taxi for us. She’s an excellent host! Oh, she also found a store where we could find new trekking poles. Thank you, Cathy!

Great location. Close enough for a long walk, or quick Uber. But far enough away to it be bothered by late night crowds.
There was really no problems with the room. If I had to dig deep to find an issue, I’d say the mattresses could use updating.

A big room with a nice and clean bathroom. Even though it is in the city, there is no noise in the room, so we were able to listen to the birds while waking up. Easy to reach by bus from the city centre and a great vegan Italian place close by.
Not sure how parking would be as we used public transport. The people are really nice, so they should be able to help you out!

The place was spotless clean!! I stayed in the single room, and it had everything I needed. They also had some fruits awaiting in the room on arrival, which was so nice.
The location is a very quiet residential area, which was so good to sleep at night, but it's close enough to all the tourist locations and you can reach in walking distance. Cathy also had some tips on what to visit and gave me a map on arrival. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again!
