In the heart of Edinburgh, a 5-minute walk from Waverley Rail Station, 28 York Place Hotel offers a lounge bar, free WiFi and bedrooms with views. Each standard bedroom has private bathrooms with a bath and a shower. Each bedroom has private bathrooms, some rooms with a bath and shower, and some with a walk-in shower. All rooms have a hairdryer and handmade Scottish toiletries. The hotel is housed in a listed 18th century Georgian townhouse which means we do not have a elevator. We recommend guests who struggle with stairs consider a hotel with elevator access. Some rooms overlook historic York Place and the others have views over Edinburgh’s landscape, the River Forth and stretching to the Kingdom of Fife. Princes Street is also just 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel and Regent Gardens is 10 minutes’ walk away. Edinburgh Airport is a 30 minute tram ride away. Breakfast is served 8:30am-10am Monday-Sunday.

The staff were incredibly helpful and nice. I accidentally left my passport in my room and they texted me to alert me that I had left it before I even realized I didnt have it. Our room was comfortable and clean. The location is great! We walked from our room to the Scott Monument, The Milkman coffee shop, Victoria Street, St. Giles Cathedral, and walked the Advocates Close. Im so glad we stayed here!

There is no elevator, and it will be tiring to go upstairs if you have a suitcase, but the environment is very good.

Friendly staff, very welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was immaculate with nice products. Great coffee sachets. Excellent location for all the wonderful attractions Edinburgh has to offer.
The breakfast option was a continental for extra payment. For 4 more, we ate at The Ivy five minutes up the road, which was fabulous. Seemed expensive in hotel for cereals in plastic boxes on the bar.

The bar was ok
Our first night a catastrophe!Soooo noisy from street traffic noise.We were given a different room after complaining and it was a huge difference. Both rooms very small.Had to put one suitcase ON the desk because there was no room to open it up otherwise.Bed matresses were very uncomfortable.

Comfortable beds, good shower and fantastic views over Edinburgh. Staff were excellent. Very close to Waverley Train Station.
It was dusty in places, just didn't have a feel of luxury I would have expected for the price.
