In the heart of Edinburgh, a 5-minute walk from Waverley Rail Station, 28 York Place Hotel offers a lounge bar, free WiFi and bedrooms with views. Each standard bedroom has private bathrooms with a bath and a shower. Each bedroom has private bathrooms, some rooms with a bath and shower, and some with a walk-in shower. All rooms have a hairdryer and handmade Scottish toiletries. The hotel is housed in a listed 18th century Georgian townhouse which means we do not have a elevator. We recommend guests who struggle with stairs consider a hotel with elevator access. Some rooms overlook historic York Place and the others have views over Edinburgh’s landscape, the River Forth and stretching to the Kingdom of Fife. Princes Street is also just 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel and Regent Gardens is 10 minutes’ walk away. Edinburgh Airport is a 30 minute tram ride away. Breakfast is served 8:30am-10am Monday-Sunday.

The staff was lovely at check in and check out. The shower was excellent, the room was nice and spacious with all facilities working well. The bed was incredible and the location was absolutely spot on. We've been to Edinburgh three times and then this was definitely the best place to stay.
There's nothing we didn't like. As all places to stay in Edinburgh are, it was a tad pricey.

Great location Cute decorations for Christmas Nice staff Room was decent size
There’s zero soundproofing. We were in a room and it had an adjoining room and we could hear everything next door. This resulted in a lack of sleep since the people next door were quite loud until after midnight, then had an alarm go off at 5:20 which they snoozed multiple times. We could hear it all perfectly. I don’t blame the people staying in that room, there should be better soundproofing in the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend if you want to actually get a decent sleep.

Location was very convenient, was within easy walking distance to princes street, Waverley train station and the castle isn't too far of a walk. Tram is again convenient from here to. Room was clean and staff friendly

Close to St James Quarter, Princes Gardens for Christmas Market and Waverley train station. Lovely clean hotel, extras provided for guests like bottled water, Tunnocks biscuits with ability to make hot drinks. Hotel team happy to help with bags as beautiful building didn’t have a lift. Stairs are very wide and steps are shallow so able to navigate with walking frame. Would definately stay again when in Edinburgh.

Location great. Hotel was very comfortable. Room had everything you could need. Lovely bath/ shower products. Everywhere very clean. Comfortable bed. Can’t recommend it enough!
