This was a beautiful property, with gorgeous fittings and decor. The bed was really comfortable too.
The owners were lovely and welcoming and the breakfast was possibly the best Ive ever had in a hotel.
being from Edinburgh originally and having recently moved west I know the area well. its in a great part of the southside, fifteen to twenty minutes walk to the old town and Waverley Station but nicely quiet and well served by busses.
next time we have to stay over in Edinburgh it will be here for sure.

What a place! Absolutely incredible in every way. The food was amazing and so creative every breakfast time and it felt like a home from home with our hosts being so welcoming. Ross provided us with recommendations for fantastic places to eat and visit so that we made the best of our trip. Would 100% return.

We spent a lovely 2 days in Edinburgh. 23 Mayfield is a wonderful guest house. From the moment we arrived until we left we were made to feel very welcome by Ross and Kathleen. The location is brilliant, the breakfast was excellent and the room we had was absolutely outstanding. I cannot recommend this boutique guest house enough, we shall be returning!!

Beautifully decorated. Fantastic lounge and honesty bar. Breakfast was superb. Great location, hosts and recommendations.
The room we had had a very confusing lighting set up and lack of plug next to the bed. No conditioner in the bathroom. Otherwise, fantastic.

Faultless.
Warm welcome from the hosts who were more than happy for us to arrive at 9am and leave the car to get the bus into the city centre for the day.
Grounds and rooms spotless and smelled lovely with reed diffusers.
Rooms all decorated traditionally to a very high standard.
Breakfast was better than we have had from any 5* luxury hotel.
Good quality bedding, towels and toiletries.
Great location with several buses into the city centre from outside hotel.
Cant wait to return.
