The staff were good, the reception was nice, the breakfast was good and varied, and the heating in the room was also good.t
The smell of the bathroom towels and the pillowcases wasn’t good. I tried not to use them and even put part of my clothes over the pillow because the pillow cover didn’t smell nice.
At night while I was sleeping, there was a strange noise, like water drainage, and it was quite loud in the room.
Overall, the experience was reasonable, but I’ve stayed at Hampton hotels in Virginia, USA, and Frankfurt, Germany. The cleanliness of the bedding in both was better than at Hampton London.

The Breakfast is great..beds are amazing.
Lack of facilities in the room - bath accesorizes, bathrobe, slippers...and either the doors are old and bad or the people are simply slamming them during the night.

Disappointing
The initial experience was good it was in a good location with regards to the excel. Breakfast was average at best and the evening meal set up was quite strange. food was very basic and i wouldn't be eating there again.
I was woken up by an alarm going off in someone's room. It went off for 45 minutes constantly. I asked reception after say 30 minutes to ask the person to turn it off. I was told via email that because they had do not disturb on their door and they didn't answer either phone or knock (which i heard no attempt on that room I WAS UP AND LISTENING). Policy states they cannot do anything. so they seem to be happy that i will not use Hampton by Hilton again on the back of this (this is somewhat fine). So note to self......leave loud music/alarms on, do not open the door but have the do not disturb sign on and all is good.........

All OK on that front, Hotel staff very helpful in changing our arrival dates.
Went for a Festive weekend in London, not one Christmas decoration on the site. very sad & disapointing.
All other Hotels in that row had decorations in the windows & bar / reception areas.
Want to know why really.

Good basic hotel if you're at the excel. Close to 2 DLR stations. Nice size rooms and a good mix for a simple breakfast. Nice to have a bar and simple menu on property.

The low score is related solely to the interaction with the staff from customer relations, as this was the only interaction with the hotel. We booked for 3 nights and 2 days before arrival, but my friend had an emergency medical issue and needed to be hospitalised. I had called and written to the hotel about all this and offered to provide papers to attest to all in order to cancel the cancellation fees for our booking. Even the booking team try to help us but the staff of the hotel do not want to make any exception from the policy. This situation is covered by their policy so I cannot say anything. They charge me as it is written in the cancellation policy. BUT what I cannot understand is why after that, the hotel charged me for all 3 nights even though I did not stay at the hotel? Yes, they returned my money that evening after I called again, but it is not ok to be charged at all for the other 2 nights if I already cancelled.

Very Good
It is nice place and great area to walk around and close to the train station and other markets. The cleaning staff was really great and they respected my privacy if I was inside and used to come everyday for cleaning.
There was an additional bed in my room which i did not understand why was it there. Moreover, I requested to change my room but no action was taken. Also at one stage, I needed to have a UK style socket plug for my laptop but the reception did not respond in a professional way, i would say the response was pretty casual.
