Disappointing
The location was great, staff were friendly and approachable. Discount on pub was appreciated.
The room was small, the stairs were too tight and narrow. The bathroom had stains on the walls and was not a great experience. Had to dance around partner to get to the other side of the room.

Location minutes walk from London excel. Evening menu was great, really tasty and well presented food.
Breakfast advertised by booking.com was not included.
Shower was blocked and overflowed.

Overpriced and arguably the worst accomodation in London. Over 200 per night!
During check-in, I experienced a frustrating delay as the hotel staff initially couldn't locate my reservation due to not knowing the current date. When I enquired about additional toiletries because my luggage was misplaced, they proudly mentioned they provided hand wash and toilet paper.
The room itself was minuscule and the carpet was riddled with questionable stains. The mirror was hanging precariously off one hinge, the air conditioning unit was held together with sellotape, and the windows and surfaces were covered in decades-old dust. You dont want to hear about the mattresses. When I asked for a room change, after a long telephone call with the manager, the hotel staff offered another room but with an extra 50 fee attached but they were glad to provide a cancellation and agreed that they, too, had no intention of staying at the hotel.
This is not a hotel but a pub with rooms. The staff leave when the pub closes so there is no security available. The punters who are as rough and common as the accomodation leave the pub inebriated and take their loud profanity and aggressive blunders to their rooms after midnight where you can hear every irate word through the paper thin walls.
In summary, I strongly advise against staying here, especially if you have an early morning weekday commitment.

The room was clean
We were on the top floor, it was very hot at the room and the windows were secured, we couldnt fully open them. The shower was not working during all our stay, either spewing boiling water, going on and off. There was not cold water, the toilet wasnt flushing. At the arraival we were told that the breakfast will not be served and it will be refunded by the site manager as it was booking.com fault but till now we didnt receive a refund and they do not reply to the enquiries. Next to hotel all the area from the ExCel is fenced so you can reach the hotel only from Dlr station and next to Dlr station there is a strike, so the police is securing the area 24 hours. However, we were scared to come back to hotel when it was dark, as those people is sleeping in the tents on your way to the hotel, our friends had to go with us to make sure that we securely reached the hotel.

Staff were great; they gave us directions on how to get to where we needed to be. Also, I received a call after checking out to inform me that I had left behind my earrings, which was most appreciated.
When I booked the room, it said that breakfast was included with the price paid. Unfortunately, in the morning, we came down to find that the dining area was closed and there were no staff anywhere on site to speak to about the matter.

We were charged for breakfast but were told it is not available when at the hotel. Please arrange to have the charges refunded ASAP. We would not have booked this hotel if we knew there was no breakfast and are very disappointed with booking and/or the Fox. Our weekend was ruined somewhat. We also had no room service on either of the mornings (Sat & Sun). Sat there were towels and coffee/milk dumped outside the door when we got back late and Sunday there was nothing. No Milk for a drink Monday morning and no clean towels. I had to go to the shop to purchase milk and wash the cups up myself. The kettle even had a, dead bug in which had clearly been there a, while. Had to be cleaned out before use. Disgraceful.

The bed was very comfy and the location was a great spot. Sadly, the positives end there.
We booked for 2 nights early September. Our flight to London was delayed which I informed the hotel of at 7pm once we knew it was delayed. We arrived at the hotel around 1am to closed doors and no way in. Several calls later it looked like the staff had abandoned the place. Thankfully, there was a Premier Inn across the road which was open, so we had to fork out 140 pounds for the night, otherwise it would have been sleeping on the street. We arrived at the Fox Connaught the following morning to be told reception doesn't open until 10am. So much for getting a headstart on seeing London. After waiting around for a while, we finally spoke to a manager who told us they only saw our message that morning and they'd be putting through a full refund for the 2 nights for our inconvenience. It's been 2 weeks and there has been no refund and the hotel will not answer the phone or answer emails. Terrible customer service. If it wasn't for the being locked out, I highly doubt we'd have had a good experience. The rooms were spacious and comfy but the bathrooms were terribly dated with no shampoo/conditioner and the shower gel dispenser was empty. The bar below looked lovely, we didnt eat there so we can't comment but 6 pounds for a beer seems extremely high for a standard English pub. We slept well but woke up sweating in the middle of the night so we turned on the air con which was broken and made a noise turning on and off that would wake the dead. We paid for breakfast but that was clearly not gonna happen as we left through an empty pub with one staff member who we told, we didn't get our refund and she took my email and promised to be in touch.
If you're around this side of London, I can give you 100 positives for the Premier Inn we stayed directly across the road. Please pay that tiny bit more and stay there instead of this god forsaken "hotel".

Wonderful
Staff were very polite and helpful.
The rug on the stairs had a very damp smell.
Also, the location of the bed is such that every time someone climbs the stairs we could hear their heavy footsteps and noises, it made sleeping at night very uncomfortable.

It was close to a DLR stop. It had air conditioning
The room was filthy. The room was covered in dust, the walls were covered in black marks, makeup marks etc. the bed covers and towels were stained. The shower did not go to a comfortable temperature, it was either boiling hot or freezing cold, it also did not drain. The bed was not made properly, the sheets were falling off. The TV was placed so high on the wall that it was impossible to watch while sitting in the bed.
