Liked everything about this place, a proper rock themed pub and more. The management and staff were so friendly and helpful. The decor and ambience were amazing. The service and food were excellent and plentiful - evening meal and the made to order breakfasts - along with tasty pub snack menu available late into the evening. Great rock band on the Saturday evening and lots of banter and fun with the Sunday afternoon acoustic set. Location is only a 5 minute stroll to the "Rows" and the centre of Chester.
If you want the height of luxury and to be pampered, forget it. If you want a good time with genuine folk, you've got it.
An upgrade of the mattress in our room wouldn't have gone amiss, and maybe some sound-proofing to the main road side bedrooms - though it was an extremely busy Chester Race night!

Great location. My type of pub. Really like what the pub offers to locals and visitors. If you like rock and metal music, you'll enjoy your stay. Food was good. We mainly ate out, but we did eat at the pub one evening. My girlfriend is vegan and can be fussy with what she eats, but she really enjoyed the jackfruit burger she had. I had the steak and it was good. Staff were friendly. No complaints.
Pigeons! Oh my days. Pigeons cooing all fecking night and it was hot when we stayed. I get they're going to perch somewhere, but right outside our window and in the rafters. Mmmm.
Linkin Park! They feckin looove Linkin Park here on the jukebox. At least change it up and play some Voidhanger or Impiety, lol. All jokes aside. We enjoyed our time here.

location, venue and room all nice and to expectation
We arrived to find there was a concert happening beneath our room. Next level loudness (and i like to party!). Wasnt informed about this, and was told it would end at 1230... loud noise until 130-2am.
I feel that if you are going to expect your guests to put up with that then having a 10am check out time is pretty harsh!

My partner was running the Chester half marathon and the Saddle Inn let us have an extended check out time so my partner could have a shower after the race, which was priceless
The pillows are a little thin.
