Location was excellent really lovely old hotel very clean with modern facilities but still had that oldie worldie charm. Really really relaxing stay can't wait to stay again we'll be booking soon
Everything was excellent really the only thing maybe a suggestion was to have a little coffee table in the room

The Pied Bull is in an excellent location, right on the main street. We stayed one night in the brewers cottage which is just a few strides round the corner. All very clean and well presented. Food at the pub was very good too.
My only complaint was that there was an illuminated fire exit sign in the bedroom which lit up the room at night. I fell asleep eventually so not really a huge issue.

Room and location were both ok
There was a woman who said she was the manager of the place, bad attitude and racist in my opinion

Pleasant
The friendly staff and location.
The hotel is an old building, so probably not suitable for those who have difficulties with uneven stairs. The room we were allocated was small and very outdated. Pillows and linens need to be upgraded for customers comfort.

Bathroom was great.
Mattress didn't fit bed and got a nasty bruise from bed because of it.not enough tea and milk bit of a joke.we got told it was superior double which it wasn't it was very basic, noise outside but not much can do bout it .alot of stairs to climb with my bed leg .felt they were going on style instead of basic needs.staff weren't very welcoming not good.we did look at buying food from there but so expensive even have pay extras on top of price so found somewhere decent price to dine.

Gorgeous place, atop an old pub. The building itself, having been built in the 1500s, has a ton of character. The location couldn't be better, too, a short walk away from the prettiest sights Chester has to offer. Staff is very attentive and the meals we had at the pub were simply great! The place is clean and cozy, warm, and meets all the basic needs.
Given the age of the building, it's to be expected for the windows to be pretty thin, allowing most street noise to be heard in the room. It was manageable when it was just people coming out of pubs, but we were all loudly woken up by trash collection before sunset.

Disappointing
The location was fantastic and we enjoyed the classic pub environment- especially at Christmas.
We had no towels in our room and, when we asked for some, were told they couldn't get in our room to leave any and that we had to ask when we got back that evening. We were back late so didn't ask in the end. The single glazed windows also meant that it was very noisy throughout the night with people coming out of bars and this meant that I didn't sleep well. The room was very basic for the price paid.

Very Good
Great shower, very clean, lovely breakfast and friendly staff.
Bed was quite rickety and wobbled and squeaked every time you turned over. Lots of noise from others with thin walls and windows. However, outside noise to be expected with a central location I guess!

Great location. Pub was cozy, food was good and the beer brewed onsite was delicious. Room was large and comfortable
On my second morning there was no hot water. The maintenence guy could not have been ruder or less helpful. The lady at the counter was nice enough to let me have the keys to another room, but there was no hot water there either

The location of the Pied Bull was perfect and our check in and check out were made a breeze - the luggage storage on our final day also meant we didn't have to drag our bags around all of Chester. The hotel boasted a charming and historic atmosphere, and our room was extremely comfortable and cute. Highly recommend!
