Very Poor
Location to visit relatives.
The first room we were offered was along the ground floor of an annex to the hotel. There was a bucket to catch water from a constant drip of water from the ceiling. The corridor and room spelt damp. After negotiating with ‘Janet’ the receptionist, we were moved to a room in the first floor, annex. The room was ok, but shabby, carpets were stained and side light bulbs to bed not working, plus one of my towels was stained. The room was not cleaned after the first night, which is very unusual for a hotel. The breakfast quality and choice was unacceptable, you have to toast your own bread even if you order scrambled eggs on toast. The two members of staff worked very hard to solve all these issues, but they were over worked and not skilled. The whole experience was unacceptable.

Lovely setting and surroundings. Rooms were good, functional and clean.
Remoteness is tolerable but yiu have to drive a few miles for food. Some peopoe seemed to be semi resident and made a lot of noise on and night. Hotel exterior and decor needs a refresh.

Despite booking on a "breakfast included" rate, the hotel had no knowledge of this and insisted that we must pay extra for breakfast.
The room tv only had a few channels available and none of them worked as the picture continually pixellated

Disappointing
Location was nice
It's run down and needs work. Furniture was old and dirty except the bed. The internet didn't work well. The TV never connected to the network. I was told to *just use my own tablet* which also couldn't connect 75% of the time. It was not worth what we paid. It was a fine holiday estate at one time. Now it needs its tired and the gardens looked after and some tlc. Hopefully they will get it back to what it once was.

Wonderful
Despite a bad reputation caused by some of the clientele overall the setting and acomodation is excellent, great base for exploring north wales .cj
Nothing other than the smell of cooking from some of the adjacent rooms .

Wonderful
The lady cooking breakfast did a amazing job. The last 5 years have been tepid badly cooked breakfasts in most of the 4 and 5 star hotels i stay at all over the uk
No bar or food facilities . I dont need to drink alcohol , but food and soft drinks would save me having to travel out as thier is very little locally.

Pleasant
The breakfast was still good value and freshly cooked but the ingredients were not as good as my last visit. The room we had this time was smaller than last time with no separate seating and we both found the bed uncomfortably hard. There were no unused sockets available in this room unlike last time.
The staff we met this time were different to last time but just as welcoming helpful and friendly and it has a peaceful ambience. Although the overall experience was not as good as last time will give it another try due to the lovely staff.
No spare electric sockets. Room to small to provide seating other than the bed. The bed was unusually hard so incurred pain to my hip by morning.

The gardens were nice
THIS HOTEL IS BEING USED AS A HALFWAY HOUSE AND IS HOUSING EX PRISONERS. I DONT THINK THIS IS CONDUCIVE TO A RELAXING STAY. THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT THIS IN THE INFORMATION WHEN BOOKING. THAT IS WHY THE HOTEL BAR AND Restaurant IS NOT AVAILABLE AS SOME HAVE DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROBLEMS AND THEY ARE TRYING TO KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THE PAYING GUESTS. SEEMED STRANGE SEEING THEM QUEUING UP IN THE MORNING FOR A COOKED BREAKFAST AFTER WE HAD BEEN TOLD THE Restaurant WASNT OPEN.
