Despite a bad reputation caused by some of the clientele overall the setting and acomodation is excellent, great base for exploring north wales .cj
Nothing other than the smell of cooking from some of the adjacent rooms .

The lady cooking breakfast did a amazing job. The last 5 years have been tepid badly cooked breakfasts in most of the 4 and 5 star hotels i stay at all over the uk
No bar or food facilities . I dont need to drink alcohol , but food and soft drinks would save me having to travel out as thier is very little locally.

The breakfast was still good value and freshly cooked but the ingredients were not as good as my last visit. The room we had this time was smaller than last time with no separate seating and we both found the bed uncomfortably hard. There were no unused sockets available in this room unlike last time.
The staff we met this time were different to last time but just as welcoming helpful and friendly and it has a peaceful ambience. Although the overall experience was not as good as last time will give it another try due to the lovely staff.
No spare electric sockets. Room to small to provide seating other than the bed. The bed was unusually hard so incurred pain to my hip by morning.

The gardens were nice
THIS HOTEL IS BEING USED AS A HALFWAY HOUSE AND IS HOUSING EX PRISONERS. I DONT THINK THIS IS CONDUCIVE TO A RELAXING STAY. THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT THIS IN THE INFORMATION WHEN BOOKING. THAT IS WHY THE HOTEL BAR AND Restaurant IS NOT AVAILABLE AS SOME HAVE DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROBLEMS AND THEY ARE TRYING TO KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THE PAYING GUESTS. SEEMED STRANGE SEEING THEM QUEUING UP IN THE MORNING FOR A COOKED BREAKFAST AFTER WE HAD BEEN TOLD THE Restaurant WASNT OPEN.

I booked this hotel in error and contacted the hotel weeks in advance to ask if I could cancel, I know it was my mistake but the hotel said no, not even an offer of 50 % reduction in the price. As the stay was no good for us. No restaurant on site. So I had to lose all of my money, they had plenty of time to re sell the room.so I didn't cancel, so they couldn't re sell the room. I would not recommend this hotel from this alone.

Disappointing
No breakfast offered to me. Location was convenient for me.
Large mark on sheet. One window didn't close properly so room was cold. Heater in bathroom didn't work. Kettle didn't switch off so boiling water spurted out all over table. No hairdryer even though promised.
