The hotel was fine for my stay as I has to add on an extra night following an event at the hotel. The staff were great and worked tirelessly during a busy weekend. Breakfast and bar /good service were good. Staff were great behind the bar and very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms needs to be refurbished. They were very tired. No actual wardrobe or room safe. No heating or hot water in my sister's compact room. She did get a portable heater upon request. Rooms need more thorough cleaning.

Main bed was comfy
Bed was broken, reported, card left saying bed was fine so had to take photo to reception and ended up mending slats on bed ourselves. Shower was a trickle at best, stains all on the carpet. Breakfast was poor. No showers to use other than in changing room for use once been in sauna/steam room.

Staff was pleasent and professional
Room was smelly and dirty. The walls were so thin you could hear anybody. Really difficult to sleep with all the noise from corridors, doors and people talking. The room was very cold radiators not working.

Well furnished and comfortable room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with a great selection. Taxis to centre were easy and we also walked along the canal to get in.
We upgraded and this was a mistake as we found we had a room an interconnecting door to the next room.
Zero sound proofing so we heard everything . Conversations, phone calls even snores.The first night was not too bad but when we got back to the room on our second evening we became intimitlely aqauinted with the couple next door who to be fair were just acting in a reasonable way. It was too late to seek a change of room

Wonderful
As we left we commented on how friendly and efficient all the staff had been. This made a big difference to our state. We particularly appreciated the pleasant welcome and speedy check-in when we arrived about 1am after a tiring journey. We were only staying on night and the receptionist gave us a late check-out for free - a nice touch!
It’s quite an old building and a bit tired in parts, but clean, comfortable and well-equipped.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good
There were still cleaning equipment and rubbish outside some of the rooms when we checked in at 3pm this could cause a tripping Hazard. There were some bits on the floor of the room like it was just a quick hoover

Breakfast has a decent choice, large TV in the room, bar food isn't too bad, decent selection of beers, the guy behind the bar is spot on. Gym is ok for a hotel
Booking two privilege double rooms only to be given two family rooms instead but still paying the same price!! The guy on check in blaming it on booking.com even though I had a confirmation email stating what I'd booked. Just be careful you get the room you actually booked and paid for! The rooms are quite dated
