Location was amazing as were the staff, you could see they work hard to make it the best experience for everyone.
The room itself had rips in the furniture, scraping on the walls and much of the accommodation was sub standard. You can see where money has been spent and sadly at £130 a night I felt this was not great which was a shame because the staff work very hard.

Lovely location
Very strong smell of manure, we couldn’t open our window as so strong.

The location is situated in Wood land which was ideal as we had 2 dogs with us.
Liked the water dispensers in the corridor, that was a nice touch.
The beds were comfortable.
The dog poo bin was hard to find however I understand having a big bin might have taken away from the aesthetics of the place. More lighting at night to walk dogs perhaps luckily I had a torch
I knew we wouldn’t arrive in time to book a table in the restaurant but didn’t anticipate room service to also finish around 9pm. I wouldn’t say it’s a good look having ‘just eat’ delivery drivers arriving at a nice posh looking hotel. There were quite a few people ordering food from elsewhere so lost revenue there.
Also the same for breakfast it didn’t start early enough at the weekends for me so I was then buying from elsewhere (I was going to a different event from my family so needed breaks fast at different times).
My family went to the restaurant for breakfast and said it was chaos! At one point another guest was singing a song about having to wait so long. The breakfast food was poor quality and certainly not worth the extra paid. The waiter seemed overwhelmed and put his depth.

Pet-friendly hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good sized room. Pets are welcome in the bar and conservatory area.
The room was dated and not as clean as expected. Previous guests litter on sofa, stains on carpet, stains on bathroom door frame. The wifi connection in the room was poor (Room 201).

Poor
Spa and fitness facilities are good although they need a lick of paint and some maintenance
This is a very tired hotel desperately in need of a refurb. Rooms leave a lot to be destroyed red and it’s just dirty with dust webs everywhere including the restaurant

Disappointing
Friendly welcoming staff, the pool and spa were lovely. Cooked breakfast was good.
My room had damp stains on the wall and the faux headboard was peeling. Pastries at breakfast were stale. Evening menu was pretty limited if you are vegetarian/ vegan or just wanting healthy choices

Good
The location was nice and we had an executive room which gave us direct access to the garden which worked well as we were travelling with a dog.
I had the Eggs Benedict for breakfast but it was not great and is was drowned in sauce - also there was a £5 surcharge for this which made no sense to me as the cost would not be more than a full fry. Also the staff seem to be very busy so service can be slow at times.

Lovely hotel set in woodlands. Children loved playing outside and the swimming pool was a great addition.
Pillows were pretty awful. One was like a brick and one was as flat as a pancake.
