Disappointing
I am not really sure because the hotel and environment do not match as a 4 star hotel. It was very confusing and felt like a mixed bag that has been hurriedly put together without careful diligence of the criteria for a 4 star hotel.
While the ceiling is high in the room , the size of the room felt small.
Window seal around the windows were dirty with broken debries and dust left from the renovation project. I have a video to send it if this is required by their senior management.
The staff are not trained to the standard of a 4 star hotel. I witnessed customers struggling tot take their luggage down the front steps with no staff in sight to help them.
While the environment of the hotel may feel large on size , the decors do not match in terms of style. Again it just felt like big lump of decor that had been purchased and on display without careful thinking and know how.
On our 3rd day the fire alarm was activated with no staff coordinating the evacautaion beside a group of staff standing at the assembly point with a small notice board surrounded by themselves and little sight for visitors to notice . Once the alarm stopped, all the staff ( which also appeared to include management ) just walked back in the hotel with no communication to the hotel visitors. It was a poor show for a so called 4 star hotel.
The hotel seems to be more like a wedding venue than a 4 start hotel for leisure
Breakfast quality was poor with egg and potatoes waffles feeling rubbery and unpeeled mushrooms ( yak!!!!)

The decor was lovely. The staircase was wonderful. The room itself was clean and cool. The bed was comfortable and clean. The location was great for our needs. I chose the hotel because of the reviews and the pictures of the hotel on line. I would stay there again. I have recommended it to my family and friends. Wish I could've stayed longer. Only had 2 nights there. Felt refreshed.
I would have liked a top up of coffee on the second day.
Other than that, it was fine.

My stay at the Queen very comfortable. The hotel is big and amazing lots of history. The hotel looks amazing statues and marble arches. The breakfast very good. The hosts were all very kind and helpful. The location very close to Chester centre and train station. Queenie The Cat is very sweet too. I recommend a stay here.
Everything is top there. Nothing I didn’t like.

Perfect location for travelling to Chester by train. The luggage store made my stay so much better as I didn't have to manage my cases until check in time. The garden area was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were good. The room was very clean and nice and cool in the hot weather. The black out curtains were perfect.
We only had one set of towels between us, and even though I messaged to let the hotel know, we didn't receive any more. The pillows were quite hard.

Surprisingly lovely hotel, I booked it as it represented great value for money and it turned out to be a gem. Great location, great condition and cleanliness, rooms are spacious, lovely gardens, great food and excellent service.
My only complaint was that there was a wedding on and we were unable to order food until 8pm as a result. I thought this was a bit shabby as we were also paying guests regardless of not being part of the wedding party.

We're traveling by car and we parked our car at a parking lot near the train station for our overnight stay, it was around GBP 12 or 10, which was quite acceptable. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The bathroom is spacious. Hot bath was absolutely fantastic especially after a really long drive that day. It was nice for a overnight stay.
The only downside was the water pressure for the toilet(we stayed at 3rd floor, water pressure for the shower was great), we needed to wait several minutes before the tank was full to flush.

Very DOG friendly and gave my pet dog a welcome gift pack. We stayed in the new wing, which was great. The outside eating areas are beautiful . We had a superb evening meal, i a delightful area, which we could enjoy with our pet.
