Disappointing
Breakfast was as you would expect but finding someone not busy to bring you a milk alternative was time consuming and unnecessary. Put it out next to the fresh dairy milk!
There was only a choice of pineapple and melon in the fresh fruit bowl. Extras were there but I had to waste half a banana and half a pear to add to my fruit salad. I don’t think I would have enjoyed my holiday if I had eaten them all.
The black mould in the sinks wide overflow. Very visible when you are brushing your teeth. Yuk!
I did report it but nothing was done so I cleaned it myself with a towel.
The second night a car alarm was going off every 20 minutes. The night porter should have dealt with this!
The fire alarm went off at 7am! I got up went down ( I struggle to walk without pain killers and lifts didn’t work)
Nobody there to say what was happening! No apologies! Not even a sign on the reception desk explaining what to do!
The second day my bed was made but the dirty cups were still in my room and the tray had not been replenished. The toiletries in the bathroom hadn’t been replaced either. So couldn’t wash my hair!
Not what I would call 4 star treatment.
My 3 Proseccos with service charges came to £48! This was removed from my bill when I complained!
I hate confrontation because the staff probably get paid minimum wage.
But the hotel needs to know that they are not providing a 4 star stay!

Good
The staff were all very friendly, the room was adequate. Breakfast was good but the £1 supplement for eggs benedict was silly.
It is too pricey, there was too much noise from surrounding rooms due to a wedding party and other functions. I did not like the £50 per room per night charge in case we caused damage, we are pensioner not hells angels, The WiFi kept dropping out.

The room was exceptionally clean, we loved the bath. Loved the complimentary snacks in the room! The food in Palm Court was fantastic. Absolutely loved the restaurant decor and the pianist was a lovely touch. We both ordered the Steak and have to say it was the best steak we have both ever tasted. Cooked to perfection. Time between the food coming out was spot on. Staff were very professional and nothing was too much for them.
We booked a number of treatments in the Spa and they were lovely. In particular, Danni and Vasyl were our therapists for our treatments and they were fantastic so thank you to them both. We loved it so much we have already booked to go back later this year!

I must congratulate Ms Nelson, the owner of this marvellous hotel for tge attention to detail in tge decor, in tte meticulousness of gardens, rooms, ambience. Amongst the best boutique or small hotels in the world.
As I’ve stated above.

The room was the smallest I have ever stayed in tbo
We travelled for work and AGAIN were unable to get a VAT receipt....get this sorted with your hotels as it's a persistent problem. And why should WE the customer have to chase vat receipts?
Just send it to the supplied e-mail address...
Interestingly, don't have this problem with other hotels from different booking agencies!
