The reception staff and the evening meal were outstanding.
The cleanliness of the bathroom in the hotel well was not acceptable. There were at least two dirt rings around the bath tub. This was reported to staff upon checkout.

Room was air conditioned and was already on on arrival (a bonus in the heatwaves), breakfast was superb.
Better directions to the hotel, sat nav wasn't direct to the door on postcode. Whilst not the hotel's fault, surely the hotel is aware?

The room was spacious and beautiful. The shower and bathroom was so roomy and the added toiletries were exceptional. Comfortable bed and decor was tasteful and warming.
Just a few small things like no milk left and no waters. Also no fridge in the room.

the filtersystem/ vent above the bed was extremely dirty with dust, triggering severe allergic reaction upon arrival. also spa services are only available until check-out, a fact which is not mentioned while booking or in any confirmation emails.

Palm Court Manager arranged seating by the water for dinner at short notice, excellent dinner with Ollie our waiter adding delightful service, the temperature of all the different spa facilities, great breakfast sausages,

The breakfast (and ambience) was as good as we remembered it being, and was one one the reasons we wished to go back,. The Leisure facilities are still very good, if slightly dated now, and while the pillars in the pool are charming they are slightly restricting if more than two people/groups are using the pool for swimming lengths.
It has been a while since were were there so there were some changes. These are not necessarily bad but they did detract from what we liked previously. The open courtyard which used to be a great and relaxing place to sit out has now been covered over and forms part of the formal dining space. There is now access to the spa garden area which slightly compensates for this loss but this is restricted to spa day guests only between 12pm and 3pm, and is not directly accessible from the bar.
The (ground floor) room was adequate but felt quite space restricted compared to other rooms we have been in.
The relaxed open plan "library" feel of Nelsons Bar has slightly been lost. The entrance area is now set up mainly for dining and while there is still an area for relaxed socialising you need to walk through the dining area and past the bar to reach it.

We had an up grade to our room and a card and fudge as a gift for our Anniversary. All the staff we very friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful.

Lovely surroundings, decor was lovely and team were very polite.
Breakfast was running low on a few options and they were slow to replenish. Also had to request a pot of tea twice and coffee machine was out of order. They were busy though and maybe they were a little short on team.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. So many different things to see inside, the leisure facilities were absolutely amazing and the out door seating area in the sun made it for us ! I requested my room to be decorated for my partners birthday, and they did an absolutely amazing job. Their communication was incredible, they made it so special for me and my partner and I would 100% recommend to anyone as I would definitely stay here again !! Thank you so much
