The staff. Only one on at a time covering reception bar and cafe (as you come in and get breakfast and dinner) all very helpful and friendly. We were half board but dinner is just one course. We had Chicken Tikka which was very good. There was no objection to us bringing in dessert from nearby coo-op.. Continental breakfast was quite good. Liked having a proper big pot of real jam rather than silly little plastic pots that are are a struggle to open. Beds comfortable. We had the room for disabled guests (room 1) which had an easily accessible shower with seat.
Only place to hang up clothes was 3 hooks on the wall. When I'd finally worked out the heating system it took a long time to heat up. The bed quilts weren't really warm enough.
The biggest negative was that the toilet wouldn't drain away. We coped with it by not flushing, or using the toilet next door. I spoke to staff as they changed shift and it became clear this is a long-standing problem that hasn't been fixed. It should be. That's why I gave it 6 rather than 8.

Despite in being a last minute booking and not arriving until 8.30pm, , I received a really friendly welcome at the reception. I was given a lovely, clean comfortable room. Thanks to a great TV and sofa, I was able unwind for a couple of hours before a comfortable night's sleep. The room was extremely quiet and the curtains thick.

The staff were so friendly and made our stay so much better. Lynn was great with our two children and so accommodating to their needs. My son loved her.
The other lady (didn't get her name) who was working in the morning was so kind and helpful too.
There was nothing that we did not like.
