Clean and tidy - nice location
As there was a wedding on the bar area and terrace were out of bounds ,this is very disappointing as it was a lovely sunny evening and we were not able to use the facilities. It really was disappointing as there was nowhere else outside we could go .For the Sunday morning we had said we would like breakfast at 8am during check in. When we arrived down nothing was out and there were several people waiting - a young guy came out of the kitchen and was quite surprised there were several people waiting.
It really was disappointing as there was nowhere else outside we could go. This after paying almost £200 for one night .

Room was outstanding and stunningly good, best room I have had at the hotel, breakfast good as usual and great choice was provided not to mentions the fantastic coffee too
to be honest with upgrade room I was given, simply nothing it was perfect and so much space and the bath was outstanding, as well as the shower

Room size and bathroom was great. Building was lovely, breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
We liked everything but the room could do with a little refresh - otherwise really good value.

We booked this hotel last min we couldn’t check in until 3 then to be told they where shutting the gardens and bar off for a wedding but we could use restaurant bar but that was in side as it was a lovely warm day we wanted to take the views and surrounding as described it ruined our stay I think this should of popped up prior to booking .. even our room didn’t feel we got what we booked superior room it should of had a living area like your brochure but it had one chair ?? Happy to say we won’t be staying there again

The location is lovely
The room wasn’t clean especially the wardrobe that was full of dust, the lamp was hanging off the wall along with the headboard, one of the lights didn’t work in the room, the velux was hanging off the ceiling in bathroom, control didn’t work for the others, a wedding was on so you can’t go onto the grounds only sit on a bench on the car park and if you book it as a spa weekend be warned kids go in during certain times which we were not told about so our relaxing spa break weekend became full of screaming kids jumping in the pool, no issue with kids but that’s wasn’t what we wanted or we would have gone to the leisure centre

The location was great for us £7 for an Uber into town and less than 10 minutes to the zoo. The master suite was large, clean and comfortable.
The grounds and spa were great.
There is no mini bar or even a fridge in the room.
The breakfast was basic but mostly ok except for the eggs which had gone hard on the buffet.
If I stayed here again I would skip the restaurant in the evening and get a Uber to Chester as I am sure you would get a better meal with more choice for the money (including taxi fare).
