Fair
The property is located close to town and on nice grounds, the outside of the building looks very nice
The hotel and spa is very dated and not maintained very well, the spa is very basic (all in one room) and we had a power cut 3 times, rooms are very old fashioned with little upkeep ie furniture unstable, tv remote broken so couldn’t change anything, and the sealant / grout around the shower and bath had all black mould and was dirty,

Wonderful
Very friendly staff and comfortable room. We had dinner which was simple food but very tasty. Very quiet location and room was not too hot so we slept well.
Some of the public corridors had stained carpets so I would recommend a refurbishing or getting professionally cleaned.

Disappointing
The building is nice
The hallways were dirty and hadnt been hoovered.
The shower in the room barely had any water coming out.
Went for a swim and none of the lockers worked in the mens changing room so had to leave my wallet in an open locker.
We were going to have an evening meal at the hotel until i read the reviews and we decided to go out instead. We had breakfast in the restaurant the following morning and it was terrible.
Overall a really nice setting but it's gone downhill.

Beautiful building, rooms nice and big, bathroom facilities amazing. There is a spa onsight. Staff were mostly attentive, polite and helpful. Breakfast was nice, gluten free catered for, nice sentiment in the room for anniversary.
Nothing is signposted. Apart from the rooms. No signposts to the bar from reception or other areas of the hotel. The spa changing rooms were very dirty and looked like they had not been cleaned for a while. The rooms, whilst spacious lacked a deep clean, stains on the carpet outside and inside the rooms, stains up the wall. Luckily the bedding was clean. The hotel overall needs a good deep clean and touch up as things have started to look tired and unkept.

Junior Suite was lovely. Spacious & bathroom was nice. Room was clean. Spa & pool were brilliant. Breakfast was good too
The food in the restaurant on Saturday evening when we stayed was hideous. Don’t order the Thai curry, it was inedible baby food. Nobody wanted to check or ask how things were. Staff just weren’t that attentive in a few ways - requested a hair dryer for the room that never arrived, service at the bar wasn’t great either. They seemed nice but all young kids that seemed like they were lacking a bit of direction.
Some areas were closed off for a wedding but nobody told us when we checked in.
