Disappointing
nice bed. nice bathroom
Breakfast selection disappointing. barely any fruit or pastries. very basic english breakfast.
Restaurant carpet dirty.
changing rooms in spa needed hoovering. no capacity to book treatments during stay despite being a guest.
Having paid more to have luxury spa hotel, felt cheated.

Disappointing
The look from the outside was lovely
The room was very tired. Chipped furniture, marked paintwork. Limited teas and coffees. Definitely not worthy of 4 stars

Location was great. Nice ambiance and lovely staff. Brekkie was decent. Massive rooms. Changing rooms for spa were tiny
Kettle in room was filthy. A little dated. Bar food was ridiculously overpriced £18 for fish finger butty with some skinny fries

Pleasant
Nice large clean comfy rooms, fab Bathroom, spa and pool looked very good but not used. Overall hotel is very appealing only led down by their food.
The evening restaurant is absolutely terrible. A large very dark open space room with tables arranged in a grid without any features or decoration that makes it feel very uncomfortable. This is not a reataurant you want to visit by any means. The "pub" is also very basic. It's just such a shame that a ni e Hotel like this does not have great ambient for dining. Breakfast was also poor with minimal continental just some toast, yoghurt and a bit fruit. Cooked bfast was basic, eggs all hard no porridge only one slow coffee machine. No water, tooth brush/paste/lotion in room

Good
Well located for visiting the area.
Lovely pool area which was warm. Long opening hours giving you plenty of opportunity to use.
Nicely decorated and comfortable room.
Our request for the room make up were ignored which when we checked in resulted in us having ti be changed and had to wait 20 minutes while they did so. The receptionist admitted that the instructions were clear and ‘all over the booking’ so couldn’t understand how they had been missed.
The first night we arrived we ate in the bar. It was so quiet and no atmosphere. We realised there was no piped music and with few people around you felt you had to whisper. The bar was hard to find and there was no member of staff in sight we had to go and look for them. Once we ordered we were kept waiting for the drinks and the food arrived first. It was only just warm as the waitress explained she couldn’t find us. It was ok but not more than that and rather pricey for what it was.
We had issues with towels not being changed when we followed the instructions and had to raise it with reception twice in a 5 night stay with on one occasion having to chase it when it didn’t arrive after nearly an hour.
This was all such a shame as the hotel is nice and has a lot going for it. We had read the reviews before we came so sadly not surprised with issues arising.

Fair
Room was a good size, comfortable bed,
Sign showing direction for reception was very small hardly visible , damp smell in corridors leading to rooms, hardly any toilet paper, phone in room has nothing to tell you what numbers to call , no information about hotel just a qr code on table ! , rang reception no answer 3 times, rang normal number , said not accepting calls! , ended up walking to reception ,
