Location was convenient to the town centre. The friendly welcome we had from Julie the hotel receptionist when we arrived. Comfortable bed, good beverage facilities and a clean room
We felt rushed at breakfast, having plates and cups taken away before we’d finished by a rather abrupt waitress. Being ushered out of our room before we’d checked out or finished packing the car (it was 10.45). It was nice to have a terrace with our room, however we couldn’t use it as there were brambles and weeds everywhere and the patio slabs and patio furniture were dirty.

The furniture in the room was dated and showed signs of wear, and the television in the bedroom was quite old.
While most of the staff were professional and courteous, we had a couple of encounters where the level of customer service fell below expectations. Given the price we paid, I would have expected consistently excellent customer service throughout our stay.

It was an ideal location for me on the outskirts of Chester but with local facilities within easy walking distance. It had plenty of free parking which is a bonus in any city hotel. The welcome from Trudy on reception was genuine & friendly. She took time to tell me where to find local pubs & restaurants within easy walking distance, showed me the lounge & the room where guests can make coffee to take outside or in the lounge. She then took me up to my bedroom which was upstairs & at the front of the hotel.
My room was lovely - freshly decorated with a super comfy bed. There was the usual tea/coffee making facilities with a bottle of water & bag of crisps as added extras. Somebody has put a lot of thought in designing this room. It has plenty of plug sockets with USB sockets integrated & a mirror with light built in for getting ready & styling hair. There was also a portable fan which was very welcome on the rare warm night when I stayed.
I slept very well & was impressed with the breakfast next morning. Mostly self service with hot drinks & eggs (fried or scrambled only) brought to the table after ordering.
There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like. I was very impressed. If you are disturbed by road noise then request a room at the back.

Staff were generally very nice & friendly. The man who checked us in was a bit grumpy! Breakfast staff were very good & the food was nice. Bed was comfy. Good sized bathroom.
