Unfortunately, there was very little to like about this property. The hotel felt outdated, the room location was highly inconvenient, and the staff were unhelpful when we raised our concerns. What disappointed us most was the way the situation was handled when we requested assistance and ultimately had to leave.

Excellent dinner (lamb shank with buttery mash), and lovely characterful room in the original part of the hotel. Also great bathroom with piping hot water.
Mugs instead of small cups in the room, too small for tea.

Cold, damp room. Not disability friendly. Bed made up the wrong way - see picture. Broken door- see picture. Broken bathroom window - see picture. Chairs heavily stained -see picture .No bathroom curtains -see picture. Wardrobe needs replacing - see picture. Heated towel rail not working -see picture. Bannister on first floor (behind reception very loose).Breakfast awful.

It was very close to Chester Zoo where I was visiting. The room I was given was amazing, very good value. It had a four poster bed in and a chaise lounge and a big bathroom with a choice of bath or shower. The cooked breakfast was delicious.
The door was unlocked when I got back from the zoo. Also, had trouble with the key after breakfast each day. Also, a few more selections at breakfast would be nice. Maybe some yoghurt, croissants and grilled tomatoes and different type of eggs with the hot meal. Apart from that, all was fine. I would stay there again.

Didn't really enjoy our Saturday night meal.husband fish and chips was fine.mine and our granddaughters was just like a microwave meal.and couldn't eat it.it wasn't worth £54.but the breakfast was lovely.

Room was smelled of damp and foisty changed rooms that was abit better but not much very old and dated furniture and carpets would not stay there again .does not meet the advertised 4 star .The spa was not very clean 5 mins in there was enough

The hot water tap in the bathroom wasn't working. The bath that the shower was in was broken. The carpet in the bedroom was threadbare in places. I was really expecting better.

Lovely , friendly helpful staff. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds
Smelly, dirty furniture, thankfully this was corrected by staff. Room was dusty and bathroom needed a clean. Shower door did not shut therefore leaked . Room was generally very dated and tired looking .
We ate in the restaurant in the evening , my daughter's pizza was hard and could have been used as a lethal weapon , my burger looked like it had been thrown around the kitchen several times, both not edible. Unable to mention this to staff at the time as no staff appeared to be around . Very expensive for food that we were unable to eat.
The spa appeared dirty and pool was very mirky looking and cold. Such a shame.

We got there at 4 , after checking in not long after we got told the boiler was broke which meant no hot water and no heating , we were very dissatisfied as I’m really bad with arthritis and need a bath to help but couldn’t ?
